Who they are
“Born and raised on Detroits westside in the late 60's Norm's addiction to music began at an early age.By the age of 13 years old Norm's diverse musical outlook consisted of Disco,Progressive,Jazz.Starting off Norm collected good music(45's-8-tracks-Vinyl)with proceeds earned from his paper route and eventually was introduced to Ken Collier who just happened to live 3 blocks over so needless to say most of the Disco and Progressive I attained was through Ken who was a DJ mentor for me.At this point and time I only had one turntable an eight-track player a receiver and some speakers. So I would have friends over and play records and we would dance until we were sweating!!So one day a friend that would come over and vibe was having a backyard party and needed a DJ and asked me to do it which was really special to me because I had never did a party in my life,I only had one turntable and couldn't mix!!So back to Grindstone I went to earn the money to buy a turntable and a mixer and a tape deck which I had about two months to get.At that time I made about $30 dollars a week and before you know it I was at HD Sounds putting together a system(Gem Sounds,Sharp tape deck excellent for pause button mixes, pioneer turntable)So it was on!I did the party which turned out to be a success and got some more offers to do more gigs which began a career on the decks that stands to date!!So in 1985 I began to archive the mixes I was doing on Cassette tapes(over 500)and did that for 15 years up until the year 2000 when I began making mixed CDs which I have over 400 to date!”

“Daniel Rincon has lived in a hundred different worlds, and he has built a utopia in each of them.”

Daniel Rincon has lived in a hundred different worlds, and he has built a utopia in each of them. The Colombia-born artist—better known as NAP—would hear the sounds of cumbia and merengue floating through his house, but he was interested in rougher stuff: punk, hardcore, no wave. In his childhood, Rincon’s music teacher told his mother that he had an ear better fitted for field artillery than music; when he was a teenager, Rincon’s family moved to Vancouver, and there, he found a way to weaponize that ear. He started going to no wave shows, and he’d DJ parties with busted equipment. It was punk in sound, but more importantly, in practice.Techno on 7, Ambient on 6, House on 6 and Downtempo on 3. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Craigie Knowes (1), Delicate Records (2) (1) and Quern (1). labels on their catalogued releasesRecently at Nowadays, Mansions, Eavesdrop · often with Joe Delon, Slinky Residents, Skankstasy, none of them here that night

“With 20 years of DJing at the world's top clubs and almost a hundred releases under different monikers to his credit, one might think that Francis Harris had reached the pinnacle of his career, or at least firmly established his niche; but 2012 marked a pivotal year for the Brooklyn-based producer in which his true potential as a composer, producer and label executive was revealed.”

With 20 years of DJing at the world's top clubs and almost a hundred releases under different monikers to his credit, one might think that Francis Harris had reached the pinnacle of his career, or at least firmly established his niche; but 2012 marked a pivotal year for the Brooklyn-based producer in which his true potential as a composer, producer and label executive was revealed. In seeking a more subtle and emotional sound, Harris departed from his tried and true methods as a solo studio engineer, forging creative collaborations that rekindled his long dormant interest in the craft of songwriting, live instrumentation and performance. The result were the two albums Leland (2012) and Minutes Of Sleep (2014) laced with piano, guitar, cello, trumpet and vocals by Danish singer Gry Baggien, delivered on Scissor and Thread, a new label Harris formed as a platform for this highly personal expression. With newfound purpose, Harris returned to the club music arena with an entirely new approach to making music. Focused on the development of new artists for the Scissor and Thread collective, Harris has been collaborating in the studio and behind the decks with label partner Anthony Collins as Frank & Tony. Together the pair have released an array of well received EPs and the albums You Go Girl (2014) and Ethos (2024) showcasing pitched down melodic house tunes. His third solo-studio album Trivial Occupations released in 2018 followed by his newest long player Thresholds in 2022.Their RA profile lists hfn, Scissor & Thread, hafendisko and Modelmaker.Last at public records in Apr · often with Dasha Rush, Decoder, Claudio PRC, none of them here that night
