Dusky are London production duo Nick Harriman and Alfie Granger-Howell. The duo have asserted themselves as leaders of the UK underground. BBC Essential Mix of The Year contenders, DJ Mag cover stars, headliners everywhere from Berlin's Panorama Bar to London's Fabric, Dusky's story so far is one of constant forward motion and a uniquely universal appeal. The duo's breakthrough track was undoubtedly 2012's iTunes Dance Single Of The Year 'Flo Jam'. Signed by the label that broke Maya Jane Coles (Dogmatik), its deep grooves were hammered by everyone from Loefah, Joy Orbison and Boddika to Disclosure, Jamie Jones and Sasha, with even Calvin Harris getting in on the act. Since those formative releases marked them out as talents destined for the top, Dusky have pushed their sound forward every step of the way. There have been Italo bassline meets Belgian rave vibes on Running Back, rugged warehouse techno excursions on Loefah's School and classy melodic grooves on Anjunadeep. But, it was ‘Careless’ on Aus that cemented their place in the scene's hall of fame. Over 14 million streams, definitive UK house banger of its era and soundtrack to countless crack-ons ever since. In 2017, the duo launched their 17 Steps label, taking control of this unique identity and giving it the unrestricted platform it deserves. JOY, their debut album on the imprint, amassed over 6 million streams with ‘Eros’, the most streamed track on the LP, paving way for their new garage project Pressure. A musical excursion looking back to their formative years and early productions that were heavily influenced by UK and US garage. dj poolboi is the moniker of Austin Texas’ resident Adam Ansley. In 2017 Ansley started quietly releasing lo-fi house music under the moniker as a side project. An upload of his track “we can be happy on the popular EELF Youtube channel began to pick up viral tracktion and attention. Channelling his own struggles Ansley crafted a unique form of electronic music creating emotional melodic house and instrumental songs mixing elation and nostalgia with melancholy. Residing in the same vein of underground house as Ross From Friends and Baltra while building on the experimental dance music of trailblazers such as Radiohead, Four Tet, Caribou and Jamie XX his music found its own niche taking flight online. With a strong visual presence from his many music videos, poolboi has quickly amassed almost 100k subscribers on Youtube. With over 50 million streams to date the artist began landing coveted opening gigs across North America. The artists debut LP “it’s good to hear your voice” came out in March of 2020. Connecting with audiences for its calming aesthetic during the intense global panic at the start of pandemic the album came out on Berlin based label Majestic Casual. An official remix for Moby followed and an EP for the trendsetting underground house focused UK label Shall Not Fade. The artist has now released three lead up singles from his upcoming sophomore album. Showcasing a growth in sound working with featured artists from around the globe exploring indie electronic crossover territory with Canadian bedroom pop artist FLOOR CRY on “motions”, South Korea’s Su Lee on “i don’t really mind”.
