“Petal Rose is a NY-native, Brooklyn-based DJ and producer just trying to figure their shit out.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Petal Rose is a NY-native, Brooklyn-based DJ and producer just trying to figure their shit out. Born and raised by God-fearing Guyanese immigrants, music was never taken seriously unless it was in the context of the church. For lack of a better phrase, music became their god, and they’ve been a loyal worshiper ever since.Recently at Happyfun Hideaway, H0L0, Pianos · often with BBYGRL, EEVEE, BEYBLADE SHAWTY, none of them here that night

“Soo Intoit began DJ'ing in 2020, when booked for a Zoom party.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Soo Intoit began DJ'ing in 2020, when booked for a Zoom party. Believing it was a drag booking, she was informed a week before that the party actually wanted her to play music for an hour. After spending lots of time going out and working as a host, and frequently mentioning the desire to be a DJ, she decided this was the time to commit. She had her beginnings (other than the aforementioned Zoom party) in intimate basement gatherings, and later on rooftops. With her job being closed at the time, she was at an advantage, and practiced very frequently. By late 2021, she was presented with her first opportunity to produce a party--which is now CRITICAL HIT. What started as a bi-weekly Wednesday party with humble attendance, evolved into an event that maintains a strong following and crowd, and now takes place once a month on the weekends. This party features a PS2 at almost every event, and sometimes operates games at other parties, showing her interests in building communities around mutual hobbies, as well as providing a unique experience in what she does. The gaming influence is reflected in her DJ sets, too. She produces Juicy Fruit, a recurring bar night with a focus on danceable music the crowd can sometimes sing along too, and Omega. Omega is her sci-fi themed dance party, which she co-produces.Recently at Elsewhere, Mood Ring, SoMad · often with Spiral Sisters, L4RV4, SELENE, none of them here that night
“Born and raised in New York City to Dominican immigrants, Nix was introduced to music of all cultures at a very young age.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Born and raised in New York City to Dominican immigrants, Nix was introduced to music of all cultures at a very young age. From singing in choir in elementary school, being part of a jazz ensemble at Lincoln Center in middle school, and a variety of bands throughout high school, music is all they've known as music has surrounded them during turbulent times in their lives. It wasn't until post-grad, where Nix didn't have a creative outlet to express themselves. Once they picked up their first set of decks... that's when they knew... a monster was born. MANGUMAMI, who Nix has often described as "the voice in my head" and "the Hyde to my Jekyll" is a imp-like demon whose goal is to leave you addicted for more. With infectious rhythms of all genres blending into various melodies, MANGUMAMI captures audiences' ears and body like a siren and doesn't release them until they're done.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, C'mon Everybody, Dead Letter No. 9 · often with JFUSE, BOJAQ, Nicole GS, none of them here that night
