For more than a decade, he has been one of Berlin’s most enduring presences and a key figure in the city's queer scene, playing regularly at both Panorama Bar and Berghain. His aesthetic is rooted in the origins of underground dance music, taking cues from the rawness of both US and UK cornerstones. Acid-tinged patterns, rolling toms, and full-bodied low ends combine into a groove that’s punchy and alive. As Dekmantel noted on his contribution to their mix series, “He packs plenty in, dexterously switching up the mood as he weaves through evocative and emotional sounds, always powered by crisp drums.” His longevity and quiet authority have led him to be a regular fixture at some of the most celebrated clubs and parties around – Adonis in London, BLITZ in Munich, and Savage Hanoi, as well as performances at leading festivals like Glastonbury’s Block9, Houghton, Wonderfruit, and Lost Village. This energy also fuels his project LAUNDRETTE, a collaboration with Roi Perez and David Elimelech. What began as a series of intimate gatherings has grown into one of Berlin’s most beloved parties, which also function occasionally as fundraisers for marginalised communities and humanitarian causes.often with Roi Perez, David Elimelech, Mike Servito, none of them here that night

James Axon is a DJ, musician, and creator of the LA-based queer underground party Planet Love, as well as a resident on Dublab with his radio show Hearing Color. A lifelong pianist turned obsessive record collector, James Axon approaches DJing as an extension of musicianship. Before falling into house and techno, he spent years in bands and orchestral ensembles, a background that still shapes the way he thinks about rhythm, harmony, and structuring his sets compositionally. As a keyboardist and musician, he has collaborated with Seven Davis Jr. and Massimiliano Pagliara, and as a DJ has shared lineups with the likes of Octo Octa, Eris Drew, Avalon Emerson,The Blessed Madonna, Derrick Carter, Paramida, Peach, Moxie, Alex Kassian, Zombies in Miami, Jennifer Loveless, Sally C, Tornado Wallace, Perel, Eli Escobar, Paurro, and more. His sets drift seamlessly between house, techno, italo, electro, disco, and breaks, guided by an expansive taste shaped by pioneering artists like Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Andrew Weatherall, and Francois Kevorkian. His sets are always colorful, eclectic, and intuitively reflective of the setting -- whether playing cosmic disco in an intimate loft or hypnotic techno in a dark foggy warehouse, he still finds a sound that is distinctly James Axon: melodic and synth-heavy, driving and dreamy.Recently at public records, Unveiled, BASEMENT · often with Jason Kendig, Telesforo, Annie Lew, none of them here that night
