DURATIONS Festival returns November 9–15 2026 as a week-long, multi-disciplinary exploration of sound and connection. Now in its fifth iteration, the festival’s programming is its most robust yet, with seven days of music, talks, and audiovisual work taking place between Public Records, Pioneer Works, Roulette, and Whitney Museum of American Art.

From William Basinski’s three-night run in The Sound Room, to buttechno’s and Eiko Ishibashi’s A/V sets, to dinner with Breadtree Farms, Afrikan Science’s UPSTAIRS excursion, Terre Thaemlitz’s debut live piano performance, and so much more, we look forward to a seminal week of innovation and forward-thinking.

“…there is no state of mind, however simple, which does not change every moment, since there is no consciousness without memory, and no continuation of a state without the addition, to the present feeling, of the memory of past moments.” – Henri Bergson, An Introduction to Metaphysics

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Abby Echiverri is a young producer based in Brooklyn, NY, whose intense curiosity has led her to take on a variety of roles as a musician, sound engineer, DJ and VJ. Her releases include a track on the 15 Years of the Bunker compilation followed by her debut EP on The Bunker NY, entitled Ab Initio, which has garnered a number of positive reviews. As a live musician, Echiverri’s left-field musical influences, deft hardware manipulations, and experienced engineering meld into an inventive interpretation of techno. Echiverri’s current trajectory started early in childhood when she was classically trained in violin, flute, piano and vocals, cementing music as a part of her daily life. In high school she picked up turntables and began collecting records, eventually moving to NYC to study recording engineering and perform in post-punk bands, and became a regular at Wierd and The Bunker at a very young age. Since then, Echiverri has devoted her professional hours to engineering, maintaining, and manufacturing audio equipment for studios and clubs around the world. Such intimacy with technology comes through in her music, where she enjoys working with unfamiliar hardware and acoustic samples, using unconventional effects processing, and manipulating the stereo field in disorientating ways.

“Afrikan Sciences is one of the most expansive and intensive musical torch bearers of modern experimental techno and jazz.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Afrikan Sciences is one of the most expansive and intensive musical torch bearers of modern experimental techno and jazz. A self taught multi-instrumentalist and a true outsider, he challenges the canon and the limitations of musical expression through his complex yet mind opening rhythmical and sonic woven formations. Porter's repertoir covers possibly an entire spectrum of music yet defies the constraints of categorisation which sets him apart from other contemporaries. Listening to African Sciences we're entering a Universe in itself, full of Intrigue and Inspiration. At the dawn of the Age of transhumanism one of the matters to consider is the concept of Man vs Machine and the balance between manmade and digitally facilitated. There is a clear sense of human centred approach in AfSci's output, with an emphasis on improvisation, fluidity, exploration and development. It is a sound for the acquired taste yet not exclusive. His live performances resonate through the audience leaving them enthralled, hypnotised, enriched. Triumphing over the analog with productions and performances with a truly organic feel.

“Creating sonic bridges from the literal, perceivable world into mythical, imaginal realms is what Sardinian-born and Berlin-based DJ and Producer Claudio PRC might be best known for.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Creating sonic bridges from the literal, perceivable world into mythical, imaginal realms is what Sardinian-born and Berlin-based DJ and Producer Claudio PRC might be best known for. Since appearing in the Italian deep techno scene in 2006, he has developed an immersive sound world inspired by a fascination with Detroit techno and electroacoustics. By studying Music and New Technologies, he gained sonic and tonal combination skills - this, paired with a conscious, philosophical approach, has led him to create a distinct sound. A sound that understands electronic music through a cyclical, cosmic lens. Instead of using extravertive elements, he enhances the overall experience through a wide-screen appeal, playing with spatial awareness through details and taking the audience on a journey into the all-or-nothing of sound. Following the first album “Inner State” on Prologue Music in 2012, Claudio released long players on Semantica Records and his co-founded label, TGP (The Gods Planet). An undeniably profound connection to the island of Sardinia is palpable in all of his works. It surfaces through the relationship with his home base collective Basstation in Cagliari or the appearance of oceanic references in his music like in his most recent, well-received EP “Challenger Deep” on the dutch label Delsin Records (2022). In 2020, Claudio founded 012, a platform for art and sound research. 012 is a canvas to live the unconstrained and interconnected nature of artistic vision. Next to being a label showcasing collaborative work, it is also a curated night held at several clubs across Europe. Collaborations include closely connected artists such as Luigi Tozzi or, more recently, Blazej Malinowski. Over the years, he created a flourishing ecosystem of artists and producers and invites them to join 012 or to his ambient-explorative radio show Deepartment. The combination of audio and visual experiences is as important as the connection between the real and the imaginal in Claudio’s work. One apparent example was his performance “From the nebular stars to the mosses on the granite rocks” during Berlin Art Week in 2015. Like in everything he does, a Claudio PRC DJ set is a meticulously sewn journey. This makes him a key protagonist in the emerging world of hypnotic techno, playing regularly at an international level at the most reputable festivals and clubs. From 2023 on Claudio PRC is holding a residency at Berlin’s long-standing Techno institution Tresor.
Their RA profile lists Delsin, Semantica Records, Affin, Prosthetic Pressings and 6 more.

She first gained attention by founding the underground rave NOCOMPLY in Tokyo and earned international recognition with her 2023 debut EP Soleil on Hole and Holland. In 2025, she released the hazy, acid-infused EP I Wanna Feel You on Australian label Animals Dancing. Later that year, she released her debut LP In Dream on Dutch label Music From Memory, a lush, intimate soundscape of digital synths, acid bass, and whisper-soft vocals. Drawing inspiration from nature, emotion, and quiet moments of wonder, the album blends balearic moods with dancefloor energy, capturing curiosity, optimism, and radiant positivity. As a DJ, Bailey has performed at renowned venues including Panorama Bar in Berlin, Womb in Tokyo, Klymax in Bali, Love International in Croatia, and Fuji Rock Festival, with regular appearances across Europe and Asia.

  • “Dasha Rush is a Russian-born, French national, based in Berlin, who is an artist that spends her time traveling around the globe while working on a wide variety of electronic music and art projects.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Dasha Rush is a Russian-born, French national, based in Berlin, who is an artist that spends her time traveling around the globe while working on a wide variety of electronic music and art projects. She has released music on labels such as Sonic Groove and Raster Noton, and has also collaborated with others. Additionally, some of her work has been released on her own labels, Fullpanda Records (2005) and the experimental sub-label Hunger to Create (2004) She began her musical career at a young age in Moscow, where she was one of the first female DJs/producers in Eastern Europe. After moving to France in 1996, she gained international recognition in the early 2000s and developed as an electronic music composer, producer, and DJ, experimenting with various forms of art by collaborating with dancers and painters. Rush views genres as starting points rather than destinations and explores rare electronic experimentation that draws from the roots of underground music from the early 20th century. Her album on Raster-Noton (2015), could be a metaphor for her musical work: "These 16 pieces are transmissions from that state between sleep and wakefulness," said Tony Naylor, a reflection of the in- between zones her music often inhabits. Dubby but intense, brutal but tender, foggy yet clear—Sleepstep was a wonderful mass of contradictions. Not being one thing or the other is vitally important to Rush, which goes hand-in-hand with her strong independent streak. She pushes the boundaries of contemporary music to the limit and encourages experimentation with various musical and non-musical forms, creating thoughtful compositions in multidisciplinary projects. Her audiovisual work, inspired by scientific subjects, includes projects like "Antarctic Takt" (2014), "Aurora Cerebralis" (2019), and "Dark Hearts of Space" (2015). In her multidisciplinary show "Les Territoires Ephemeres" (2018), she combines different artistic disciplines such as Japanese butoh, theatre, poetry, and digital music and visuals. In conclusion, Dasha Rush is a live performer, electronic music composer, sound artist, and techno DJ whose work extends beyond the dance floor and sometimes beyond music itself. In her strange and twisted world, the machines are the protagonists of a neo-romanticism, weaved with human dreams. www.dashrush.org www.fullpanda.com Selected performance: -Antarctic Takt ( Audio Visual) 2014 -Dark Hearts Of Space ( Audio Visual) 2015 -Les Territoires Ephemers 2018/ Multidisciplinary) - Aurora Cerebralis 2019 ( Audio Visual) -Dasha Rush and Schloss Mirabel( Cello) (New classic experimental electronica Live show - Hypothetically Personal ( Audio Visual) 2024 Dasha Rush & UY studio collaboration -Zone ( Contemporary Dance / Ballet) -CODESS - choreographed by Candela Captain

“Raised far from the gravitational pull of dance music hubs, Dallas-born Decoder developed his craft outside traditional DJ circuits, shaping a singular voice defined by independence that remains central to his sound today.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Raised far from the gravitational pull of dance music hubs, Dallas-born Decoder developed his craft outside traditional DJ circuits, shaping a singular voice defined by independence that remains central to his sound today. First opening Fruity Loops at the age of ten, Decoder's relationship with electronic music began free from expectation or institutional pressure. His early productions were guided as much by video game soundtracks, synth-pop and rhythm as by techno itself, resulting in music that is light and inquisitive. That playfulness has endured. Over time, his productions have evolved, with a distinctive sci-fi-feeling that's grounded in the techno's founding principles. Drum-led, full-bodied and often carrying a quiet melancholia, his discography draws a clear lineage from Detroit techno's futurist restraint and experimental traditions, all the while still resisting easy categorisation. Influences range from the microtonal explorations of Aleksi Perälä to the hypnotic patience associated with Perlon-era minimalism and Ricardo Villalobos, all filtered through an instinctive sense of play. Early support from Richie Hawtin and Jeff Mills affirmed his commitment to this direction, recognition many artists work years to achieve. In the DJ booth, Decoder treats performance as a direct extension of the studio. Sets are often built largely from unreleased material, functioning closer to live testing grounds than traditional DJ performances—ideas are trialled, stripped back and reshaped in real time with close attention to the room. After formative experiences at warehouse parties and renegade events across Texas, he began touring internationally while still in his teens, logging sets at the likes of De School, FOLD and Watergate. 2025 marked a significant turning point, with an acclaimed set at Waking Life and his debut at Berghain. Alongside releasing on established labels, Decoder runs two imprints: Codec, a community-focused platform for collaborative projects, and TOCA, a more purist, physical-only label emphasising longevity and restraint. His forthcoming album Prakasa, released on Planet X, represents several years of studio development and reflects his continued interest in cohesion across time, genre and form. Now operating internationally, Decoder represents a measured reinvention of techno, one that looks forward without severing ties to the past. Retaining the independence forged in Dallas warehouses and DIY parties, he remains an artist shaped not by trends, but by curiosity, patience and a disciplined belief in the power of simplicity.

With 20 years of DJing at the world's top clubs and almost a hundred releases under different monikers to his credit, one might think that Francis Harris had reached the pinnacle of his career, or at least firmly established his niche; but 2012 marked a pivotal year for the Brooklyn-based producer in which his true potential as a composer, producer and label executive was revealed. In seeking a more subtle and emotional sound, Harris departed from his tried and true methods as a solo studio engineer, forging creative collaborations that rekindled his long dormant interest in the craft of songwriting, live instrumentation and performance. The result were the two albums Leland (2012) and Minutes Of Sleep (2014) laced with piano, guitar, cello, trumpet and vocals by Danish singer Gry Baggien, delivered on Scissor and Thread, a new label Harris formed as a platform for this highly personal expression. With newfound purpose, Harris returned to the club music arena with an entirely new approach to making music. Focused on the development of new artists for the Scissor and Thread collective, Harris has been collaborating in the studio and behind the decks with label partner Anthony Collins as Frank & Tony. Together the pair have released an array of well received EPs and the albums You Go Girl (2014) and Ethos (2024) showcasing pitched down melodic house tunes. His third solo-studio album Trivial Occupations released in 2018 followed by his newest long player Thresholds in 2022.

GHOST DUBS - "DAMAGED" out now via Pressure Recordings Bandcamp / 2xVinyl / Streaming […] “"If David Lynch had ever been driven to dub, it might well have sounded like this....an early contender for best of the year" – Steve Barker / The Wire Magazine […] “Most of the action is happening on the edge of what the ear can hear […] air-compressing, room-shaking bassline bliss. Your neighbours won’t thank you, but your consciousness will.” – Electronic Sound Mag […] “Damaged is an absolute immersive triumph, a furnace-reduced, machine-tooled groove of hypnotic, ever evolving high-density inner ear-bliss.” – Mojo Mag […] “distills ambient dub into a wispy, wraithlike form. … Where Ghost Dubs stands out is in the intensity of his productions. Lots of people have tried their hand at this tradition, but few have achieved the heaviness, or the strangeness, of Ghost Dubs’ best work." – Pitchfork […] "Damaged is comfortable yet eerie, and it goes back and forth between dream and reality... Listening to the album gives the feeling of a near-death experience." - Yuta Umegaya […] “Record of the Week” - "As you might expect from a record released on The Bug’s Pressure label, this thing is weighty. It’s almost as if it has its own gravitational pull." – The Quietus […] "I have to admit that “Damaged” is something like the essence of Dub embodied. The distillation of 50 years of bass music." – DubBlog.de

“I have an ongoing practice of spelling my name JJJJJerome Ellis.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
I have an ongoing practice of spelling my name JJJJJerome Ellis. I do this because the word I stutter on most frequently is my name. JJJJJerome has the great privilege of being married to poet-ecologist Luísa Black Ellis. They live in a monastery on a creek in traditional Nansemond and Chesepioc territory, aka Norfolk, VA. JJJJJerome dreams of building a sonic bath house! Concepts that organize the artist’s practice include: unknowing, improvisation, fugitivity, illegibility, inheritance, opacity, prayer, gap, contradiction, aporia, eternity, unpredictability, interruption, silence, and devotion. Ellis researches relationships among blackness, disabled speech, divinity, nature, sound, and time. The artist’s body of work includes: contemplative soundscapes using saxophone, flute, dulcimer, electronics, and vocals; scores for plays and podcasts; albums combining spoken word with ambient and jazz textures; theatrical explorations involving live music and storytelling; and music-video-poems that seek to transfigure archival documents. Their debut album, The Clearing (2021), was called “an astonishing, must-listen project” (The Guardian). It was co-produced by NNA Tapes and The Poetry Project, and it was released with an accompanying book published by Wendy’s Subway. Poet/essayist/playwright Claudia Rankine said of the book: “The Clearing is many things: a lyrical celebration of and inquiry into the intersections of blackness, music, and disabled speech; a restless interrogation of linear time; an intimate portrait of the author’s real-time experience of his stutter; a baptism in syllable and sound; and a manuscript illuminated by The Stutter. At its core, Ellis’ metaphor of the clearing becomes a place of possibility and “momentary, transitory, glimpsed liberation.” He invites us to meet him there.” The Clearing won the 2022 Anna Rabinowitz Prize. The artist has received a Fulbright Fellowship (2015), a United States Artists Fellowship (2022), a Foundation for Contemporary Art Grants to Artists Award (2022), a Creative Capital Grant (2022). The artist has received residencies at MacDowell (2019, 2022), Ucross (2021), Lincoln Center Theater (2019), ISSUE Project Room (2021), and La MaMa (2021). JJJJJerome’s work has recently been presented by the Whitney Museum and National Sawdust (New York); Venice Biennale 2023; Haus der Kunst (Munich); Rewire Festival (The Hague); Schauspielhaus Zürich; Chrysler Hall (Norfolk, Virginia); MASS MoCA (North Adams, Massachusetts); the Center for African American Poetry and Poetics (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania); and Oklahoma Contemporary (Oklahoma City). They have received commissions from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, The Shed, and REDCAT. Ellis is represented by Michaël Gardiner at Heavy Trip, Pascal Mungioli at Stay Service, and Ben Izzo at A3 Artists Agency. The artist’s work has been covered by The Guardian, This American Life, Pitchfork, Artforum, Black Enso, and Christian Science Monitor. Ellis has been a lecturer in Sound Design at Yale University. They received a fabulous music education in the Virginia Beach public school system, and they continued their studies at Columbia University as an undergraduate. Ellis collaborates with James Harrison Monaco as James & Jerome. Their recent work explores themes of border crossing and translation through music-driven narratives. They have received commissions from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Ars Nova.

  • “Significant Other, a UK-born DJ, producer, and curator now based in Berlin, has carved out a distinctive space in the electronic music landscape with his emotionally resonant productions and genre-resistant style of DJing.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Significant Other, a UK-born DJ, producer, and curator now based in Berlin, has carved out a distinctive space in the electronic music landscape with his emotionally resonant productions and genre-resistant style of DJing. Consistently operating at the fringes, his creative output is an at times chaotic fusion of the tough and more tender corners of modern dance music. Initially emerging from the Brooklyn underground scene, Significant Other co-founded the prolific NYC event series and record label Club Night Club, cutting his teeth as a covert curatorial presence behind-the-scenes of a new wave of late 2010s Brooklyn dance music. With sporadic releases appearing across a range of acclaimed UK labels, little artist information provided, he emerged from the shadows as an enigmatic figure within the ecosystem of off-kilter dance production. His debut album Residuum arrived via Manchester cult favorite YOUTH in 2021, representing a veiled departure from the club origins of the project. A ghostly, atmospheric full-length grounded in texture and stygian catharsis which revealed a different side to his sound, transposing the tension and release balancing act of dance music onto a listening geared LP format. In the interim years his sound and DJ sets alike have become even harder to define. His work seamlessly blends elements of ambient, dub, and rougher club sonics, creating immersive fugue-state listening experiences that are at once both introspective and dancefloor-ready. The consistently elusive nature of the project has imbued his long discography with a liminal quality, his production and live output alike forever skirting the margins of genre and utility. Over the years he has garnered a cult reputation for his slant on the skudgier, atmospheric ends of contemporary mood-driven electronic music. In 2024 he launched the record label and Berlin event series Pain Management, an anti-dancefloor outlet for outsider sounds spanning spoken word, hellish dub experimentation and avant-garde electronica; ‘body music for restless minds’.

Kaifeng-born, now London-based Yu Su is a musician, DJ, sound artist and occasional chef. As one of the most prominent Chinese artists with a highly unique voice working across the globe in the last 5 years, her output covers all the ground you’d expect and more. Her multiple critically acclaimed records on UK’s Technicolor (Ninja Tune), Netherlands’s Music from Memory and China’s own Bie Records has seen her nominated for Canada’s Polaris Prize. She has co-produced music with John Carroll Kirby, Duval Timothy and is known for remix works for Parquet Courts, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, and many more. As a DJ, she is unpredictable, idiosyncratic; just “casually having the dance floor transfixed” have put her on the spotlights at clubs and festivals internationally like Dekmantel, Glastonbury, Boiler Room, iii Points, Nuits Sonores, Rainbow Disco Club, Phonox and so on. She has also recently been featured on the cover of Mixmag magazine, marking the first Chinese cover star. She has composed for feature films and fashion brands like Sacai, Jimmy Choo and London/Shanghai based SAMUEL GUÌ YANG.
