Saturdays @ Refuge ~Before. During. Afters~
Deep minimal grooves. We're kicking off August with a night built around the art of selection.
Andrey Pushkarev is known for patient, long-form sets that pull people deeper into the dance floor, where subtle progression becomes just as rewarding as the moments everyone remembers.
Adam Collins brings the fluid, genre-spanning approach that has defined his place in North America's underground, moving effortlessly through house, techno and minimal.
NYC's Connie adds her own refined perspective with a sound rooted in groove, depth and musical curiosity. Refuge regular Stavi completes the lineup.
Refuge Hi-Def Dance Club is a 500-cap underground nightclub in East Williamsburg built around sound, energy, and atmosphere. At its core is REX, a custom 4-point system designed by co-founder Craig “Shorty” Bernabeu, with four 10-foot stacks surrounding the dance floor for a powerful, immersive experience. Each night is curated to push that system to its full potential — a true Musical Arts Performance in every sense.

the whole biography
Born in 1981 in a tiny town of the Pre-Ural region, Votkinsk. Andrey made his way to the worldwide underground scene by collecting and successfully playing vinyl records for over 25 years. A vinyl collector, his special and deep taste for sound is recognizable and respected in more than 60 countries. From Australia to the US, South America, Asia, and Africa. The career of a professional DJ started at the age of 15. Despite limited resources of getting any alternative information on underground culture and music before and after the Soviet Union collapsed, his passion for electronic sound still developed rapidly and evolved into dedicating his whole life to it. Constant searches and desire to share precious finds involved in a life’s time work so now he is spinning vinyl in clubs, all-scale festivals, and broadcasting at Boiler Room, Mixmag Lab, and live streams. In 2006, he became a resident DJ of the unique web radio DeepMix.ru which was broadcasting non-commercial techno music for free and without any advertising to listeners from 53 countries till the end of the summer of 2011. In 2013, he appeared as the main protagonist of the documentary film Kvadrat which explores the realities of DJing, shot by Anatoliy Ivanov in 5 countries. This movie had a huge impact on the underground community because it showed the other, more vulnerable side of the profession and revealed a romanticized illusion of the life of an electronic artist. As a producer, He mainly focuses now on ambient and dub sound, as an opportunity to state an inward-outward message, not influenced by short-lived hype. The releases and remixes can be found at labels like Circus Company, Endless, Lessizmore, and Thule Records. Also, he is producing and curating music for his label, Luck of Access which was opened in 2017 and provides a space for artists to reveal the unknown sides of their musical style.Their RA profile lists Circus Company, LesIzmo:r, Endless, Thule and 5 more.Recently at Signal, H0L0 · often with Voiski, Max Dowd, Annie Lew, none of them here that night
“Connie Yin has been a major contributor to New York City’s underground electronic scene for almost 20 years.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Connie Yin has been a major contributor to New York City’s underground electronic scene for almost 20 years. With a deep fluid mix of forward thinking 4/4 styles and a defined rhythmic sensibility that flows from her alter egos as a thumping rock drummer and newbie bass player, Connie is a steady crowd favorite and an accomplished pro who always brings the goods. Whether it is as resident DJ for ReSolute, one of the world’s hottest itinerant underground parties, or on the road touring from Brazil to Dubai, Connie’s aptitude and vigorous devotion to her craft have earned her turns alongside a litany of techno’s best. Connie uses her own success to inspire others to enter the world of DJing. To date she has privately trained 15 students. Connie has been producing electronic music since 2009, under the ‘Constar’ moniker as well as Connie Yin, with a dozen releases available digitally and on vinyl, under labels such as Bedrock Records. Currently, she is producing with long time friend Karina Chaczabian as C&K, with recent vinyl releases; and J Gabriel, on various projects. Connie’s love for music spans beyond electronic music; for the last 20 years, Connie has always been involved with at least one band at all times. Current live music projects include songwriting and drumming with post punk band Jilted Lover; playing bass guitar with rock/punk band Bricklip; creating techno synthpop in synth & machine heavy band Chic Choc; and playing keyboards and drums in Bover Cand - an 80s cover band....and also making music videos, her newfound passion. Connie also enjoys romantic strolls on the beach, candlelit dinners, and cuddling.Their RA profile lists Bedrock Records, Airdrop Records, NOSI Music, Jyre Records and 3 more.Recently at Elsewhere, Apollo Studio, H0L0 · often with Amy Jor, KANZE, Maksim, none of them here that night
