Refuge Hi-Def Dance Club is a 500-cap underground nightclub in East Williamsburg built around sound, energy, and atmosphere. At its core is REX, a custom 4-point system designed by co-founder Craig “Shorty” Bernabeu, with four 10-foot stacks surrounding the dance floor for a powerful, immersive experience. Each night is curated to push that system to its full potential — a true Musical Arts Performance in every sense.

Texas-born and Brooklyn-based, Henry Chow has spent nearly three decades embedded in the underground, moving dance floors with raw, mood-driven techno and house. A lifelong crate digger, his sound leans heavy on tension, groove, and restraint—built for dark rooms and long nights. As a DJ, Chow’s reputation has carried him to international stages and key venues across the U.S., including regular appearances at The Great Beyond (US). In Houston, Chow co-founded Crossroads, then one of Texas’ longest-running dance parties. The series became a proving ground for uncompromising international and regional artists alongside deeply rooted local talent, helping shape a sustainable, late-night culture. After arriving in Brooklyn in 2017, Chow re-established Crossroads with a series of events at the now defunct TBA Brooklyn. Years later Chow teamed up with Dianna Loevner, Samuel FIsh, and Dyllon Young to help create the underground outfit Mizz Softee. In the studio, Chow first cut his teeth in the early 2000s, releasing an EP on Marco Carola's seminal techno imprint, Zenit. Followed by original and remixes on labels such as Genetic Recordings, Thoughtless Music, Harmonious Discord and Abiotic. Dug from the past and locked into the present, Henry Chow delivers music that’s physical and meant to be felt.Tech House on 7, Techno on 8, Deep House on 5 and Downtempo on 3. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Thoughtless Music (2), Harmonious Discord (1) and Plain Sound Recordings (1); their RA profile also lists Zenit. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at public records, Refuge, Mansions · often with Samuel Fish, Dustin Zahn, Truncate, none of them here that night
“Kr!z has been at the forefront of techno for more than a decade.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Kr!z has been at the forefront of techno for more than a decade. Influenced by the hypnotic and energetic sound helmed by veterans such as Jeff Mills, Steve Rachmad and James Ruskin, he gradually but steadily developed his own identity in the international techno scene. After making a name for himself as a skilled DJ with sharp focus and a quick mixing style in home country Belgium and the Netherlands, Kr!z launched Token Records in 2007. It has since been a leading outlet for heady, purist sounds. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value with a timeless and powerful sound and took it around the world with label nights on every continent. Token remains important in defining techno today - always straightforward, sometimes weird, often catchy – all under the helm of Kr!z as avid A&R. After 12 years spent assiduously focused on curating the Token discography, showcasing artists he has nurtured and supported over this time, and incorporating the connoisseur’s knowledge and experience he has cultivated in his work as a DJ, 2019 saw the release of his long awaited debut EP on Token. ‘Mantra’ received high acclaim by both media and the scene's key DJ’s. This continued in 2020, when he released the track ‘Scorpion’s Tail’ on Voltage Imprint and ‘Malice’ & ‘Imperative Needs’ as part of a split EP with Pfirter on his MindTrip label. 2022 will be his most prolific year to date with three full EPs seeing the light of day: ‘Neutrino EP’ on James Ruskin’s Blueprint Records, ‘The Tunnel’ on Setaoc Mass’ hotshot SK_eleven and a third one on his own Token Records. As a DJ, Kr!z takes listeners on journey’s surpassing space and time. Led by deeply hypnotic grooves, syncopated rhythms and widely reverberating atmospheres, his desire to guide the dancefloor into unknown depths can be felt with every note. Intensities build up and collapse under his skillful hands, knowing what each knob twist will result in. Each set feels almost like a mathematical calculation, deciphering the code of collective ecstasy.Their RA profile lists Token, Blueprint Records, Reclaim Your City and SK_eleven.Recently at BASEMENT · often with Berghain, Doltz, Katia Curie, none of them here that night
