[SET TIMES BELOW]
Halloween Night & Day at Signal stretches from Friday through to Sunday morning with 2 stages and 26 artists for almost 36 hours of non-stop music featuring PARAMIDA, Apollonia and Mathew Jonson.
Friday begins with a special Shelter x Signal collaboration, featuring Apollonia. The trio of Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky have spent more than a decade refining their unmistakable approach to house: deep, stripped-back and relentlessly groovy, built for long, intentional sets. Their shared history and deep knowledge make them a natural fit for an extended Halloween set.
Across the weekend, Berghain mainstay PARAMIDA brings the trance, acid, and techno inflected taste that she has become known for. Italy's Inner Lakes pushes into psychedelic territory, folding breaks, techno and progressive electronics into his distinctly tripped-out sound, while Bristol’s Hodge brings rhythmic pressure and bass-weight experimentation.
Jade Seatle and Karine plan to b2b with their sharp and fast approach to techno and trance. Shakolin, a defining voice of Kyiv’s underground, will play a set that moves fluidly through house, techno, and electro, which ensures to keep the crowded completely locked.
They are joined across the marathon by Alvaro Medina, Bobby., Chloe Battelle, deep creep, Dj Brian, Henry Chow, J. Richards, Jack Mulqueen, Joiah, Julie Marghilano, Kurilo, Mathew Jonson (LIVE), Matthias, Nuno Carneiro, Per Hammar, So-Fi, Taimur, Tommy Chikara, Vitess, Wayne Holland and 98dots.

Karine is an integral part of Kyiv’s Closer club as its resident DJ and booker, now based in Berlin, continues writing the club’s story in Ukraine and worldwide. Her exceptional musicality and an immense experience in mindful listening and dancing throughout the two decades we’ve known Karine, including ten years of working at Closer, have brought her to the position of a truly promising talent on the scene. Her records are a colourful spectrum of deep, minimalist, hypnotic, groovy, and quirky sounds depicting an array of periods and moods spanning multiple genres from house and techno to breakbeat, electro, and more: she would playfully blur the boundaries between genres anyway.Recently at Signal, public records, Apollo Studio · often with Timur Basha, XDB, Alexia (2), none of them here on Friday

Texas-born and Brooklyn-based, Henry Chow has spent nearly three decades embedded in the underground, moving dance floors with raw, mood-driven techno and house. A lifelong crate digger, his sound leans heavy on tension, groove, and restraint—built for dark rooms and long nights. As a DJ, Chow’s reputation has carried him to international stages and key venues across the U.S., including regular appearances at The Great Beyond (US). In Houston, Chow co-founded Crossroads, then one of Texas’ longest-running dance parties. The series became a proving ground for uncompromising international and regional artists alongside deeply rooted local talent, helping shape a sustainable, late-night culture. After arriving in Brooklyn in 2017, Chow re-established Crossroads with a series of events at the now defunct TBA Brooklyn. Years later Chow teamed up with Dianna Loevner, Samuel FIsh, and Dyllon Young to help create the underground outfit Mizz Softee. In the studio, Chow first cut his teeth in the early 2000s, releasing an EP on Marco Carola's seminal techno imprint, Zenit. Joiah is an Italian–Colombian singer, producer, and DJ based in New York whose approach to electronic music feels closer to ritual than performance. She gravitates toward the spaces where eras, textures, and energies blur — between 90s trance echoes, cosmic house sensibilities, raw house breaks, and the shadowy pulse of techno. Never tied to a single lane, she moves through styles like currents, guided by intuition, symbolism, and emotion. As a producer, she released “Alchemic Amazon” on BSR, featuring a remix by Paolo Mosca, alongside several independent projects. Her collaborations include work with Muted Noise (with Roger Gerressen), Picnic Records, Klassified, vocal contributions to Gojnea76, an appearance on Nathan Melja’s Djo Sinego, and a guest mix for R&S Records. She has also delivered mixes for The Lot Radio. Joiah holds a residency with Signal and Apollo Studio while further expanding her presence within the global underground landscape. She has performed across the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, France, and the United States, and has shared the stage with acts such as Mochakk, Deniro, Gojnea76, Sandrien, BELLA, VTSS, and more. In New York, she curates the underground series Sudden Logic and hosts Talks With Goddesses — The Artemisia Collective, a podcast devoted to female empowerment in the arts and sports, exploring intuition, identity, and the transformative force of community. “Joiah’s artistry is like a galaxy brain-scaled explosion of sounds. She weaves Cali, Colombia’s bustling markets into ear candy with jazzy breaks, acid twirls, and dreamy vocals. Picture yourself vibing from a chill house party to a neon-lit club, all in one track. Indeed, Joiah’s eclecticism appeals as much to the listener as the dancer, which grants her a PHD in spirit lifting.” - Best Kept Secret Music FestivalTheir RA profile lists Future Culture Records, BSR, Muted Noise and Picnic Records.Recently at H0L0, Green Room NYC, Apollo Studio · often with CAMILLA, Black Pomade, Armii1n, none of them here on Friday

“His music offers a rare fusion of populist intensities and nuanced musicality.”
their own biography
the whole biography
His music offers a rare fusion of populist intensities and nuanced musicality. With a keen understanding for the needs of the dance floor and the universal laws of house and techno, he's thrown out the rule book time and time again, sneaking tricks learned from electro and even drum'n'bass into the clubs, and loading up his B-sides with tracks that do what they damned well please. (No kick drum? No problem.) His standards for sound and presentation are exacting. Both on stage and in the studio, Jonson's fealty to analog equipment and real-time playing; as opposed to mere layback-serves as a standard bearer for a kind of electronic music that goes way beyond the drag 'n' drop world of digital composition. Jonson has always been eager to get his hands dirty, and the music reflects that in gnarled bass sequences and long, intuitive lines. His sounds have serious teeth. Despite his quick ascent through the ranks of the techno elite, Jonson hasn't just stayed personally grounded. He's devoted much of his energy to supporting his own close musical family, in the groups Cobblestone Jazz, Midnight Operator and the Modern Deep Left Quartet, and with his Wagon Repair label. He studied classical piano as a kid, plus jazz drumming, and played drums in a marching band – thus laying both the melodic and the rhythmic cornerstones of his music today. Thanks to his father's work as a musician, he also got his hands on synthesizers at the age of 9. By the time he discovered hip-hop as a young teen, he was recreating its electro-based beats on his own rudimentary setup at home. Jonson gradually began honing in on his own sound, both in his productions and his DJ sets, inspired by a deeper, weirder sound that had begun filtering into the Victoria's techno parties. His first record, in 2001, was the first release on Itiswhatitis (a label Mathew bought from its original owner 11 years later). Another followed in 2002, and in 2003. That year, he also made his first appearance on Perlon, 'Alpine Rocket' – a track he recorded alongside Luciano during his first trip to Europe. And then, suddenly, Jonson was everywhere: Sub Static, Arbutus, Kompakt, M_nus – and every track an anthem. "I had all that music kind of saved up," says Jonson, "and then, just by chance, released it all at the same time. People criticized me for it, said that it wasn't a good idea. But it worked out for me. All the tracks did well. I wasn't saturating the market with bad music." He's right there. In 2005, Jonson co-founded Wagon Repair, and it's been a blur since, a nonstop series of tours and recordings, solo and with his band mates. Crucially, he moved to Berlin. His studio here is jaw-dropping, frankly: a semi-circle full of gear, from old workhorses like the 808 and 909 and SH-101 to unique beasts like their Cwejman and Roland System 100m modular system. Tate's Rhodes piano anchors one corner of the horseshoe, and everything feeds into a massive desk where tracks are mixed and recorded in real-time. His two hands have come up with some remarkable material. Having perfected his brand of earthshaking epic with tracks like 'Marionette' and ‘Decompression’, Jonson has increasingly turned his efforts towards more personal, introspective music. He never left the clubs behind though; his 2010 album, Agents of Time, featured a number of tracks that are as hip-winding wily as anything he's produced yet, full-on tracks like 'Girls Got Rhythm' and 'Thieves in Digital Land'. Equally physical was his 2011 drop on Hawtin's M_nus, 'Learning To Fly', and the well-received 'Automaton' on Crosstown Rebels. His 2013 album, On Her Blurry Pictures, too; here Jonson took advantage of the long player format to stretch out and indulge darker moods and slower tempos, but the core of the record remained rooted in a dancefloor context. In 2015, Mathew fulfilled his long-standing ambition of contributing to Fabric's esteemed mix series. Fabric84 is a recording of his set at the club's 15th birthday, during which he played a number of his classic tracks and unreleased edits. The energy of the occasion and the particular way Mathew performs his material blend perfectly, capturing a singular and very special set on CD. As well as continuing to tour his in-demand solo live show, which is consistently ranked amongst Resident Advisor's top 20, Mathew has recently remixed Paul St. Hilaire + Rhauder, The Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler, and VCMG (to add to his past work including Moby, Cybotron, The Chemical Brothers, and Nelly Furtado). He released an album with Units and Measurements in 2016, and another as his new alias Freedom Engine entitled “A Box Full Of Magic” in 2019. Eighteen years on from his debut release, 'New Identity', Mathew's sound and reputation as an artist have developed, as you would expect for someone so richly and widely talented.Their RA profile lists Global Underground, Ministry Of Sound, fabric Records, Mute Records and 6 more.Recently at Refuge, public records, Signal · often with Berghain, Eli Escobar, none of them here on Friday

Blending proto-house to trance, percussive gems with high-energy techno, Italian dream house and irresistible new beat – Paramida is truly committed to digging. The Panorama Bar resident is a confident, talented and occasionally provocative artist in a city whose musical rules are often made to be played by and begging to be broken. While working at OYE Records, she began her life as a DJ between a tireless party scene by night and days immersed in music. In the years since, those same instincts have taken Paramida to far-out places. Her singular thirst for often obscure, always incredible music has lead her to residencies at two of the world's most renowned nightclubs. Already a regular fixture in the booth at Offenbach’s rightfully coveted Robert Johnson, she started her residency at Berghain’s Panorama Bar in 2020. Having impressed on many occasions, whether conducting winningly trippy afternoon excursions through to a number of unpredictable closing sets, extending well beyond sunrise, dancers always share the energy of Paramida’s singular obsession. Outside of dancefloor expectations, Paramida’s recent discoveries and closely-held gems make up the soundtrack of her monthly show on Rinse FM. Paramida’s taste is also the guiding spirit at the heart of Love On The Rocks, the label she founded in 2014. Its catalogue is defined by irresistible, offbeat club anthems and unexpected 12"s adapted from the dustiest corners of outsider dance culture, bringing together elements from nu-disco, trance, acid, deep and progressive house, breaks and ambient music across continents. Many of the unlikely and treasured connections that form the backbone of Love On The Rocks have been established as Paramida has travelled the world, performing at clubs and festivals across Europe as well as Asia, Australia, Central and South America. Devoted to the euphoric potential of nightlife, Paramida is one of dance music’s true characters; a passionate proponent of music, a devoted resident and quite simply, a DJ always worth hearing.Their RA profile lists Ostgut Ton, Love On The Rocks and Dimension Of Being Human.Recently at BASEMENT, Signal, Nowadays · often with Giammarco Orsini, Berghain, Simone de Kunovich, none of them here on Friday
