FETISH ATTIRE MANDATORY
Laure Croft, the Tune Raider herself, makes her BASEMENT debut for BOUND. The Dutch-born, Berlin-based artist lives by one rule alone: “keep it sexy.” Since 2024, she’s been at the helm of her SEXYRECS label, which has already assembled a remarkable roster. Her vinyl-heavy sets strike an essential balance: scorching techno, coursing, atmospheric grooves, decisive power all come into play. Running on pure selections and honed technique with no excess of flash, Croft oozes the kind of confidence in the booth that makes it impossible not to lock in. Skin also arrives in the room for the first time. This one is special - Skin made her name as the lead singer for the iconic rock-electronic group Skunk Anansie, whose work across the ‘90s blended elements of heavy, confrontational punk and grunge with industrial and electronica. As a solo artist, she has channeled that intensity into her techno sets, bringing the same galvanizing power that has made her such a figurehead. BOUND founder Katie Rex completes the lineup, driving the night home with a dose of pure hardgroove and thundering, noise-caked techno.
San Francisco’s Squish joins for their second STUDIO takeover. The party series has grown into one of the key hubs of queer nightlife in a city that is already historic for its deep history of LGBT+ art, culture and political activism. Extending that lineage, Squish has invited some of the most thrilling artists from around the globe to the Bay Area for community-forward events whose impact reverberates far beyond their hometown. Kim Anh headlines the night. The STUDIO mainstay has spent years developing her own unique interpretation of dance music. Rooted in the glimmering vistas and charged glamor of the ‘80s, Anh has crafted a body of work that finds timelessness in hyperspecificity. DJ Warning returns from LA following this June’s debut at the club. This May, he released “Fist Pumpers United,” a three track EP that pulls no punches. At the center of the batch sits “Move Your Body,” a track that reworks Marshall Jefferson’s anthemic classic of the same name. Warning’s statement rings through loud and clear. Even as he invokes a pillar of the genre, he makes it own. Squish co-founders likeholywine and Nonsuit complete the lineup with one of their signature b2bs. likeholywine drills right down to the core with heavy, pumping house, no questions asked, while Nonsuit adds a touch of depth and dubby reverberance.

their own biography
the whole biography
Dutch-born, Berlin-based DJ Laure Croft lives by the mantra ‘keep it sexy’. When behind the decks she takes approach for the moment of release in the most powerful dancefloor experiences, when clothes come off and the energy reaches fever pitch. This sensual attitude manifests in the way she plays – a constant rush of high-intensity techno with little respite as she rips through a collection which spans the mid 90s to the mid 00s. She’s no vinyl elitist, but in touching a pair of Technics she found an internal excitement which was lacking from CDJs, where the tension around the mix and the story embedded in the grooves of a record feed into the energy of the party. She glides through her record bag after ceaseless hours of digging and selecting with an instinctive code which defines her unique sound. As her identity as a DJ takes an upwards curve, Laure views her path as a quest to continually find the tracks which fit her particular creative vision, pulling together the pieces of the puzzle from decades of techno culture carved into a near-infinite pool of uptempo, forward-facing machine music. As a woman in a male-dominated scene, she also pushes for a more inclusive climate on all regards, and considers her ever-increasing visibility an opportunity to inspire and enact positive change. With her husky Roxy (named after one of the first queer underground music clubs in Amsterdam) by her side, she holds true to techno’s inherent futurism by creating something new and ever-evolving from the already existing music she discovers and blends. The end result is a sound which celebrates honesty and integrity in the face of modern life’s rampant, paper-thin perfectionism.Recently at 314 Scholes, Refuge · often with ROBUS, SUMME, HAMY, none of them here on Friday
“Best known as the lead singer of Skunk Anansie, Skin is one of Britain’s leading and acclaimed rock singers & songwriters.”

the whole biography
Best known as the lead singer of Skunk Anansie, Skin is one of Britain’s leading and acclaimed rock singers & songwriters. Born and brought up in Brixton, South London, she rejected the safe haven of soul/R&B session singing by literally diving headlong into hardcore rock. Since she emerged in the mid ‘90s with Skunk Anansie, Skin has been a groundbreaking presence. Seeing a lot of similarities between dance music & rock music , she convinced the band to do remixes with DJs at a time when this wasn’t commonplace. This led to their hit song ‘Weep’ being remixed by the legendary Junior Vasquez with heavy rotation on the infamous Twilo dancefloor. Her love of the dancefloor began at early acid raves in the countryside to weekends taking in the London underground at TRADE, Heaven & DTPM. After spending years spinning at house parties from her massive collection of vinyl, in 2007 she was sold an old Pioneer Mixer by her friend and Legendary Dj Damien Lazarus and her jump to digital and her new obsession took hold. Flash forward years later & Skin has found her passion with sexy techno grooves that ooze warmth and fat bottom bass. “There is no fast road to being a good Dj, it literally takes years of non-stop work, it takes years of failure to understand how to get it right, it’s the same with production, luckily I already had a few skills in that area, mainly good ears but still you never really know until you test them on the dancefloor...when you feel that room shake THAT’S when you know you got it right!” She has also released Techno music under the pseudonym ‘ Juvenal’ on Nicole Moudaber’s Mood Records (2016) along with a 5 track collaboration with Nicole called #Breed that included a collab with Zebra Katz, original Techno Tracks with Nicole, and a Remix album #BREEDRMXS with remixes by Jamie Jones, Carl Craig, Pan Pot, Paco Osuna, Scuba & more. She has played at iconic clubs all over the world from Fabric Nightclub in London, Sound in LA, Space in Ibiza, Plastic & Magazzini Generalli in Milan, Output & Avant Gardner in NY, along with sets at festivals from Coachella to Kappa Future Festival in Torino, LadyLand Festival in Brooklyn, & Love Festival in London. After taking some time off to tour with Skunk Anansie & to write her chart topping memoir “It Takes Blood & Guts” she’s been working on a new solo electronic album & continuing with her seasonal weekly radio show on Abolut Radio. Skin has recently relocated to Brooklyn & is looking forward to bringing her upbeat yet dark techno vibes to sweaty dancefloors on this side of the pond!Their RA profile lists Mood Records.Recently at Rumi, Superior Ingredients, Artsdistrict Brooklyn · often with Michael Magnan, Josh Steers, The Carry Nation, none of them here on Friday
“Katie Rex is one of NY’s most essential and impactful DJs.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Katie Rex is one of NY’s most essential and impactful DJs. The Bound founder and Basement resident has spent the last decade and changed pushing a singular vision of wild, uncompromising rave power. Fusing throbbing techno, ripping hardgroove, key selections from NY’s vibrant underground and nods to her foundational loves - goth & industrial - Rex has developed a well-earned reputation for turning the dancefloor on its head. Her sets move with the perfect balance of precision and controlled chaos, transmuting a gleefully grungy menace into liberatory catharsis. Rex’s career began in Philadelphia where, in true DIY spirit, she began organizing parties around a key, glaring gap. Factory Girls was Rex’s first party series, an all-femme party that highlighted some of the 2010’s most vital new artists and helped point the way forward out of an oppressively male-focused monoculture. Word spread quickly, and early alliances with NY’s Discwoman drew Rex up to NY more and more. A few short years later she found herself at the center of a cultural renaissance. Regular sets at the revered, secretive Unter party, close ties with Bossa Nova Civic Club, and in 2016, the first edition of Bound all came quickly, and Rex’s position in the culture was soon indisputable. Bound has become Rex’s calling card: a NY-based, nationally produced kink party that seeks to redefine the form. Landing at the revered institution Basement, as one of the inaugural residencies at the club in 2019. As with Factory Girls, Bound pushes back against the ensconced patriarchal power dynamics that have made many femme and queer people feel unwelcome. It instead creates a space that is directly, unapologetically for those groups, with outstanding artists to boot. Rex’s DJing at these parties inevitably sets the standard; her capacity to both wield music of brutal power and craft an immersive, captivating, even joyful journey embodies the entire ethos of the night. Through this passion for amplifying artists, Rex created a boutique label featuring releases from Dax J, Silent Servant, Terence Fixmer, Bored Lord, Kilbourne, Ireen Amnes, Kontravoid, and more. After a 6 year Lot Radio residency, featuring a host of guests including VTSS, Rebekah, Sedef Adasï, Akua, Silent Servant, and Hyperaktivist, Bound release a new mix series In 2025. Rex has become an international presence, with regular gigs across the States and overseas. Her sets have been sought after beyond the club by Boiler Room and luxury houses Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Burberry, and Parfums de Marley. Press features in Vogue, The Face, Paper Magazine, Document Journal, Vice, The New Yorker, and Nylon Magazine have lauded her as the face of a new wave in nightlife culture. As her vision has come to shape US nightlife, the power of her music has only become more honed and riveting.
