Mala Junta returns for a full-venue takeover. The Berlin collective continues to astonish, epitomizing everything vital about the modern techno underground. Yazzus steps up to headline BASEMENT. A self-professed proponent of “bitchy techno,” Yazzus seizes control of the room with a nonstop torrent of high energy club bangers, each slightly more tweaked than the last. Simply put, Yazzus gets it, tapping into a raw and direct current of pure adrenaline soaked fun without sacrificing craft, depth or impact. No one is going to do it like she does, so accept no substitutes. Akua adds a dose of searing, visionary techno to the mix. A major figure in the US underground, Akua is now based in Germany, but her impact on the city remains large. At a time when techno was drifting into a conservative cul de sac, Akua stepped up with a finely-attuned take on high BPM impact that was as bracing and revitalizing as a plunge in ice cold waters. Since then, her strength has only increased, and she has evolved into one of the most exciting techno DJs working today. NYC icon Fashion completes the night. A singular figure in the city’s nightlife underground, Fashion harnesses the power of club music with pure conviction, ripping through sets like a force of nature. When she’s on, there are no rules.
DJ Tool takes control in STUDIO. Known for his full-throttle rides, DJ Tool captures a quintessential locus where propulsive, techy rollers, psychedelic soundscapes and unruly club energy intersect. His sets breathe with carefully attuned spaciousness and a masterful restraint, while also bristling with defiant, deviant energy. For this night, Tool has put together a very special house set to match the room. Get ready. Kilopatrah Jones is one of NY’s great breakouts of the last half decade. An artist of unstoppable power and boundless charisma, Jones makes timeless house feel fresh all over again. Now a performer with an international profile, they continue to represent with the buoyant, effusive joy that is their hallmark. Alfonso Javier, fka ANTOJITO, returns to the room. Now a mainstay on NY club culture, Javier has spent the last decade carving out his own path, and under the new alias a fresh chapter begins.

Akua has cemented herself as one of the most distinctive techno DJs coming out of the U.S. in recent years, shining brightly at the forefront of a new generation of techno artists who are reviving the innovative and rebellious spirit of techno’s enduring velocity through their work. Her practice is a passionate dedication to archiving & activating timeless strains of raw and mechanized expression - leading the new school of North American machine funk, while harkening back to the revolutionary sonics of Detroit, Chicago, & New York City DJs throughout history. A recent move to Berlin, a city that has held a crucial role in the evolution of techno, has provided her with the opportunity to further develop her craft by embracing the transcontinental connection that originally ignited the inspiration for the techno movement worldwide. Her one-of-kind, no-nonsense style brings a necessary & poignant intensity to today’s dancefloors, eschewing trends of the moment and channeling the essence of techno into an authentic wavelength that’s completely intuitive to her being. This unique display of influences plays out in Akua's unrivaled sets heard around the world - from exerting her celebrated prowess behind the decks at renowned New York clubs like Basement and Nowadays, to unleashing landmark sets at Movement Detroit, Berghain FUSE Brussels, Dekmantel, Draaimolen, & FOLD London. Already seasoned on the European tour circuit, 2024 sees her career encompassing new trajectories & widening her global reach into tours through Asia & Australia. With a wealth of knowledge and expertise, she effortlessly embodies an enthralling old-school sound while keeping her finger on the pulse of contemporary producers that also embody the authentic energy of techno’s turn-of-the-century peak. As her boundless legacy steadily expands, she continues to cultivate respect and adoration from the most discerning of DJs & dancers alike through her incredible mixing finesse and constantly expanding repertoire of futureproof classics.Recently at Signal, Paragon, BASEMENT · often with ROBUS, SUMME, 1morning, none of them here that night

FASHION - is an Asian American transsexual diva, designer, artist, and DJ based in NYC and sometimes Berlin. She would describe her musical style as an eclectic digital fusion: often combining the yin of trance (feminine, passive, chaos) and the yang of techno (masculine, active, order). Fashion is influenced heavily by her international identity, digital millennial upbringing, and the burgeoning cultural hub of New York which you can hear in her undefinable yet global sound.Recently at Market Hotel, Nowadays, Paragon · often with Makadsi, Dangerous Rose, Memphy, none of them here that night

Born and raised in Queens, a city dweller and a club kid, Kilopatrah has an innate and superlative gift for transferring energy from the booth to the dance floor—through exciting house, techno, and jungle, and moments that both harken to Sound Factory–era glory days and bring you to sweaty BPMs of the future. Their sets are palpably personal: The dance floor has always been a powerful platform for expression for Kilo, once as a freeing and connecting space for a quiet house dancer and now as one for moving others like them. When Kilo gets going, you’ll lose sense of the kick drum versus the beat of your own body against the floor. That’s a gift from them to you, and your percussion is a gift back to them. Kilo brings their energetic sass to a monthly Lot Radio residency and to parties with impressive lineups, playing alongside Todd Terry home in New York, at the legendary Movement weekend Club Toilet in Detroit, and for Boiler Room. Their mixes, for series such as Coloring Lessons, Honcho, and Juanita’s, and for spots on Rinse and Refuge, also capture the club at its most euphoric. You’ll step a little harder with Kilopatrah Jones. “Alfonso Javier is a New York-based DJ and cultural producer raised in San Antonio, Texas, rooted in a family of musicians spanning classical and Latin American traditions from Michoacán, Mexico.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Alfonso Javier is a New York-based DJ and cultural producer raised in San Antonio, Texas, rooted in a family of musicians spanning classical and Latin American traditions from Michoacán, Mexico. That inheritance moves through everything. The patience of a protracted blend, the pull of layered percussion, a set that unfolds like it was written for the room it's in. Their work as a creative producer across fashion and experiential production has sharpened something harder to name: a feel for desire, for the moment a crowd stops thinking and starts moving. Those two worlds bleed into each other. Tactile, slow-building, and tuned to the precise moment a room is ready to open up. Those who've watched them work describe a DJ who merges infuriating and intricate sounds with pre-Hispanic beats in a way that makes you feel played as much as they are playing. Layered in a way that goes beyond selection, Alfonso Javier approaches the decks as a vessel, there to educate, to nurture, to feed a crowd something it didn't know it needed until it was already inside them. Eight years into NYC's underground and queer nightlife, they've become a first call for the raves that go on to define the city.Recently at Signal, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Elsewhere · often with ALEXIS DE LA ROSA, ANTOJITO, KYRUH, none of them here that night
