  ... a volcano of songs erupted and by chance one of the demos caught the ear of DJ Koze. The release of ”Purple Drank” on Koze’s Pampa Records in 2010 couldn’t have been better timed: The same year Axel graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from Gothenburg University, with empty pockets and big dj dreams. Around that time he also moved his studio equipment into a basement on Barnhusgatan (“Orphanage Street”) in Stockholm, together with Petter Nordqvist and Kornél Kovács – the beginning of Studio Barnhus. Today Studio Barnhus is arguably the most important label for independent dance music in Scandinavia, with over 100 releases from a broad spectrum of artists like Bella Boo, Sofia Kourtesis, Jimi Tenor and of course the trio themselves. Axel does A&R and creative direction work for the label – he also released his celebrated debut album ”Family Vacation” through Studio Barnhus in 2013. Since then, he’s kept a steady flow of releases on other lauded labels like the aforementioned Pampa and Tokyo powerhouse Mule Musiq, garnering nominations for Grammis and P3 Guld (the two most prestigious Swedish pop awards), as well as being named composer of the year by the Swedish songwriters guild. 2022 will see Axel returning to Studio Barnhus and the album format with ”LUZ” and ”Quest for fire”, by far Axel’s most ambitious project to date with guests like Off The Meds vocalist Kamohelo, saxophonist Kristian Harborg and Baba Stiltz. Axel’s collaborative work has always been a part of his success. He’s one third of Man Tear - a project with Petter Nordqvist and Johan Jan Jonasson released by James Murphy’s DFA. He’s half of Talaboman with John Talabot, adding releases on techno institutions R&S and Cocoon to his catalog. Their 2017 album, The Night Land, came with much fanfare – the duo has two EPs scheduled for 2022, to be released on their newly formed Night Land Records imprint. Axel's relentless work ethic shines through as he balances a busy release schedule and global touring, headlining events like Coachella and Burning Man. He's a fixture on respected platforms like BBC Radio 1 and Boiler Room, while also lending his style to brand campaigns. With live shows, two solo albums, and Studio Barnhus's busiest year ahead, Axel cements his status as a leading force in electronic music.

  Pachanga Boys, Hippie Dance, TOPAZdeluxe, M.N. Roy and Mayan Warrior are some of  the projects Rebolledo is involved as “Experience Designer” showing his forward thinking vision. Foremost, He believes in music beyond boundaries, collecting material from all corners of the world and showing how you can tell a story with those apparently unconnected records. His sound is propelled forward by psychedelic beats and rippling synthetic basslines that induce trance like states. Whether it’s his solo or collaborative efforts, Rebolledo has always been a maverick presence in underground dance culture. Rebolledo’s unique signature as both a dj and a producer is exhibited by his early releases on Cómeme including his singular 2011 debut album ‘Super Vato’, trough to his latest album ‘Mondo Alterado’ from 2016 and his work as fifty percent of the notorious duo Pachanga Boys. In 2010 Mauricio joined forces with Aksel Schaufler (aka Superpitcher) giving birth to this project. They first presented their unique style on a couple of Kompakt Total compilations. Not long after, they conceived their own label ‘Hippie Dance’ to have full creative freedom, on which they released some cult EP’s including iconic tracks such as ‘Time’, ‘Black Naga’ and ‘Poem For The Youth’, as well as their first album ‘We Are Really Sorry’ in 2012. Rebolledo returned to Kompakt with his 2014 Mix CD called ‘Momento Drive’, which was part of that year’s Top Ten Mix Cd’s list by Resident Advisor, and Included the single ‘Windsurf, Sunburn and Dollar’ which was number one on that year´s Spin Magazine list of best Dance Songs. Rebolledo’s exotic style has also build a strong connection to the fashion world, his tracks have been used by brands like Chanel, Maison Martin Margiela, Versace, Karl by Karl Lagerfeld, as soundtrack of their runways. Over the years, solo and as Pachanga Boys, he has  released several acclaimed remixes to a diverse selection of artists such as Röyksopp, Tiga, John Talabot, Pional, Jagwar Ma and Fango to name a few. As a partner of two of the most iconic clubs in Mexico, M.N. Roy in Mexico City, and the now classic TOPAZdeluxe in Monterrey which he founded in 2007, and as a main collaborator of the Mayan Warrior project, he has pushed the music culture beyond his own performances. In 2015 Rebolledo was included in the FORBES Magazine list of the fifty Mexican creatives with the most worldwide influence. In 2017 his reworks album ´Mondo Re Alterado´ is coming out including collaborations with great artists such as Superpitcher, DJ Tennis, Maceo Plex, Red Axes among others.
