Six parties. Four days. One Purgatory. No way out.
If we’re here forever, we might as well dance forever. Once inside, time disappears. Hours become days. Six parties. Four days. No way out. Welcome to PURGATORY.
Refuge Hi-Def Dance Club is a 500-cap underground nightclub in East Williamsburg built around sound, energy, and atmosphere. At its core is REX, a custom 4-point system designed by co-founder Craig “Shorty” Bernabeu, with four 10-foot stacks surrounding the dance floor for a powerful, immersive experience. Each night is curated to push that system to its full potential — a true Musical Arts Performance in every sense.

The words “world-renowned” and “influential” get thrown around all too often these days, to the point of almost becoming cliché. While few artists actually measure up, all it takes is one look at Victor Calderone’s 20+year track record and the facts speak for themselves. From past collaborations with some of the biggest names in pop like Madonna, Sting and Beyoncé Knowles, to more recent collaborations with the likes of Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Nicole Moudaber and Paco Osuna, Victor’s constantly evolving approach and contributions to the worlds of house and techno music has earned him a place firmly at the top among the world’s most prolific DJs and producers. Introduced to New York nightlife at only 15 years of age by his older brother Cesar, Victor quickly developed an intense passion for dance music that would form the foundation for the Brooklyn native’s remarkable career. While his accomplishments as a remixer, producer and DJ are well known among those in the scene, Victor understands and appreciates the importance of continually evolving. He has reinvented his musical style and now treats listeners to an edgier darker sound. An influential and inspirational talent, Victor has entertained millions of people, generously donated to charitable causes and earned the utmost respect of his peers, all while boldly pushing the universal limits of originality and ingenuity.Their RA profile lists Cyber Records, Drumcode, Octopus Music, Mindshake Records and 3 more.Recently at Pacha New York, Refuge, Sunset Park Rooftop · often with Seth Troxler, Loco Dice, Avision, none of them here on Saturday

the whole biography
Anthony Middleton, a classically trained musician, has been immersed in music from a very young age. He penned his first song at just 8, marking the start of an enduring love affair with music. As a youth, he frequented acid house, early rave, and techno events in the UK, where he developed a fascination with the genre that turned into a lifelong commitment in 1992 when he purchased his first synthesiser. Middleton's early career found him behind the decks in iconic clubs in Marbella, and he solidified his production skills in the mid-90s at one of the UK's pioneering music technology schools. His passion led him to the heart of London's vibrant dance music scene. However, a genetic illness forced him to retreat from this bustling world. During several years of recovery, he turned to meditation and the practice of Tibetan Bön, a deep introspective period that saw him further refine his music production skills under the mentorship of renowned producer and musician Merv de Peyer. While this health setback could have signaled the end of Middleton's house music career, a fortuitous encounter with Luca Saporito in 2002 sparked a new chapter. Together, they created Audiofly, a duo that has since left an indelible mark on the electronic music landscape with their innovative and emotion-evoking soundscapes.Their RA profile lists Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical Music, Flying Circus, Supernature Records and 5 more.Recently at Unveiled, House of Yes, ARTSPACE · often with Tim Green, Patrick Khach, Matt Caines, none of them here on Saturday
