- Toribio and Niyah West — 1 shared bill before Saturday, first on Fri 27 Sep 2024.
Saturday, November 7th in a Brooklyn plant shop, surrounded by greenery, immersed by a one of a kind custom sound system, with a bar serving up a curated fall cocktail selection all night.
A Toribio set is not one to be missed. Pulling from jazz, soul, house and Afro Latin sounds, his sense of rhythm and connection makes his time behind the decks truly special. He knows how to read a room, take it on a journey, and make a night feel like more than just a party. That same spirit runs through Public Service, his summer Brooklyn block party series designed to bring people together through music, dancing and community.
The HiFi’s ANDI WALL kicks off the evening in the greenhouse with an early set of hybrid exploration, before rising Brooklyn selector Niyah West takes over.

LOCATION
We throw our parties in non-club spaces, with a focus on bringing dance music culture into distinctive third spaces across New York City. That means every venue comes with its own character, and sometimes its own limitations. Bathrooms may be tight, you might be in someone's home, or the space may come with its own specific set of rules. Respect the space and the people in it.

COMMUNITY
Community, respect, and safety are at the core of what we do. Come to dance, meet new friends, and discover new sounds and artists. We have zero tolerance for violence, racism, transphobia, sexism, or any other discriminatory language or behavior. If you see something, say something.

the whole biography
A triple threat who lights up a room when behind the decks, in the studio and on stage, TORIBIO is a lifelong student of rhythm. Analyzing melodies and chords with a musician's ear, the Dominican-American artist blends different genres and moods in all his creative pursuits–DJing, producing, singing, playing instruments, and even his skills on the mic. Thanks to a childhood spent playing in church and jazz drumming, the Florida-born, New York-based act has a natural sense of harmony. He takes on the role of musical cartographer in his Afro-Latin band, Conclave, whose debut album was named one of Resident Advisor's best in 2021 and praised by both Rolling Stone and the New Yorker. Acting as the ensemble's bandlander, vocalist, and key instrumentalist, TORIBIO connects jazz, soul, and house from various cultures with style and grace. His speciality in sonic connections are especially tangible in his DJing. Gliding from pan-Latin club to raw electro to jazz to old-school funk, his sets are a masterclass in building energy and tension. Whether playing Boiler Room or clubs in Mexico City and Tokyo, he knows how to work a crowd with selections and transitions that are as precise as they are powerful. As a producer, his edits and originals are DJ weapons, rinsed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Rich Medina, and Theo Parrish. His original tracks have been remixed by the likes of Louie Vega, Joe Claussell, and DJ Spinna. Known for fostering community through movement, his Brooklyn block parties (Public Service NYC) embody the spirit of New York’s dance culture while his newly formed imprint B.D.A. is quickly becoming known for bringing these vibes to vinyl. A TORIBIO show is a full-body experience— as he always says, “bring dat ass, and your feet will follow.”House on 16, Deep House on 6, Disco on 6 and Downtempo on 6. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on BDA (4) (2) and Bastard Jazz Recordings (1); their RA profile also lists BBE, Fool's Gold, Darker Than Wax, Razor-N-Tape and 4 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Brooklyn Roots Collective, Locust Grove, Good Room · often with Mickey Perez, Love Injection, MUSCLECARS, none of them here on Saturday

their own biography
the whole biography
Dallas-born, Brooklyn-based producer, selector, and curator ANDI WALL is carving a distinct path through the New York underground. As the founder of The Higher Fidelity, he has built a reputation centered on an uncompromising commitment to high-fidelity sound, technical intentionality, and intimate "third place" dance floors. His production work and vinyl-driven sets serve as a bridge between the hypnotic pulse of house and the stripped-back precision of minimal techno, operating with a storyteller's patience to build sets from unreleased IDs, leftfield edits, and rare, crate-dug finds. Refusing to cater to fleeting mainstream trends, ANDI WALL's sound relies on narrative tension and sonic quality. As he scales his vision into massive, non-traditional architectural spaces and expands his catalog of original releases, ANDI WALL remains anchored by a singular ethos: moving the floor through deep, intentional curation.Recently at Honey's, Elsewhere, MAD Radio NYC · often with Sol System, jawii, BRiNX, none of them here on Saturday
