There are a lot of ways to spend a Saturday night in Brooklyn. This one is for people who would rather hear a great DJ than spend the night standing around waiting for something to happen.

On Saturday, October 17th, The Ornate Project returns to Brooklyn for an evening of house music, electronic music and the kind of DJ-driven nightlife that gives New York its reputation as one of the best dance music cities in the world.

The music comes from three DJs with very different backgrounds, but a shared appreciation for groove, rhythm and a good dance floor: *Sid Vaga, Alex Raouf and AG [NYC]*.

Sid Vaga brings decades of experience behind the decks and a sound that moves through deep house, Afro house, disco, Latin rhythms and soulful dance music. Alex Raouf brings a more eclectic approach shaped by years in the New York underground, with house, disco and left-field club sounds in the mix. AG [NYC] rounds things out with deep, soulful house, disco, R&B and Latin influences.

In other words, don't expect a night built around one narrow genre.

Expect house music. Expect disco. Expect deep grooves. Expect records that make sense together even when they don't necessarily fit into the same genre box.

And we're starting early.

The doors open at *6PM, with **complimentary food from 6–8PM*. If you're coming from around Brooklyn, Manhattan or anywhere else in New York City, there's no reason to wait until midnight to start the night.

Come early. Grab some food. Have a drink. Talk to your friends. Hear the first few records. Let the room fill in naturally.

Born and raised in New York City, Alex is the product of a true cultural melting pot — a multicultural upbringing that has shaped a deeply versatile and globally influenced musical identity. This foundation has made him an expert across a wide spectrum of sounds, with the instinct and technical ability to move any crowd, anywhere — pushing the boundaries of what defines a genre, and going far beyond the familiar. This is most evident in his sonic imprint, where nothing is off limits, leading to a kaleidoscope of sounds and an eclectic journey one can't forget. With over a decade of experience as both a DJ and music producer, he has released music on legendary labels such as Nervous Records and Trax Records, while also building his own successful imprint, Supermarkt Musik. His performances have taken him to renowned venues and dance floors across the world, earning a reputation for musical depth, adaptability, and energy. Beyond performing, Alex has played an influential role behind the scenes of nightlife culture — working as a booker and talent buyer at the legendary Output, as well as the now-defunct Avant Gardner. the whole biography
AG is a Queens born DJ and creative whose sound is shaped by the energy of New York and the rhythm of Medellín. Raised around music through his father, a Brooklyn DJ, his connection to sound started early and continues to evolve through both heritage and experience. His sets are driven by groove and emotion, blending deep and soulful house with touches of R&B, disco, and Latin rhythm. Influenced by the timeless artistry of Sade, Stevie Wonder, and George Michael, his approach leans into feeling, musicality, and intention. More than just track selection, AG focuses on building a feeling in the room; warm, intimate, and immersive. Each set unfolds as a journey, balancing subtlety with moments of release. With a strong connection to community and culture, AG approaches DJing as both a musical and human experience, creating spaces where people can connect, move, and find their own frequency.

“"A Sid set is like riding a wave—rising from deep, hypnotic grooves to underground cuts, classic house to Afro-Latin magic—where no two nights are ever the same.”

"A Sid set is like riding a wave—rising from deep, hypnotic grooves to underground cuts, classic house to Afro-Latin magic—where no two nights are ever the same. With flawless precision and an instinct for reading the room, Sid shapes an immersive flow, his signature vibe pulsing as sound, space, and energy become one." Sid Vaga is a French DJ and producer based in New York City's Lower East Side. Since taking to the decks in 1999, he's brought his infectious blend of House, Afro-Latin, funk, and deep grooves to clubs and festivals across the globe—from Berlin to Colombia, Morocco to Miami. Raised in Paris, Sid soaked up sounds from his older brother’s record collection: fusion jazz, disco-funk, Afrobeat, Brazilian, Latin and early Hip Hop. It shaped his ear for rhythm and texture—where even silence or vinyl crackle becomes part of the groove. That early curiosity turned into a passion for moving dancefloors with soulful, percussive, and genre-blurring sets. Sid’s vibe has lit up EXIT Festival's Urban Bug Stage in Serbia, Châlet in Berlin, We Love Summer in Morocco, and a closing set at BPM Festival in Mexico. In NYC, he’s left his mark on iconic venues like Cielo, Le Bain, Pacha, Panther Room, and LOVE. A long-standing Turntables on the Hudson DJ and resident of the Six Degrees parties for over a decade, Sid’s driving force contributed in shaping the globally inspired sound that helped define a generation of New York nightlife. He’s shared stages with the likes of Roy Davis Jr., DJ Spinna, Nickodemus, Peter Kruder, and Funk D’Void, earning respect for his versatility and energy behind the decks. Following a period of personal and creative recalibration, Sid returns with a more refined and mature approach to music. With renewed focus, he's diving deeper into production and embracing the full spectrum of styles that shaped him—bringing a richer, more intentional energy to both his studio work and DJ sets. As a producer, Sid has released original tracks and remixes on respected labels including Kling Klong, King Street, Great Stuff, Unknown Season and Wonderwheel Recordings. Some of his releases have broken into the Beatport Top 10, and has been remixed by established names in the scene. Driven by connection and craft, Sid Vaga’s sets are always a journey—rooted in rhythm, built for the body, and full of unexpected gems.
Their RA profile lists King Street Sounds, Great Stuff Recordings, Kling Klong, 1980 Recordings and 6 more.
