the whole biography
BlkShine (Darryl DeAngelo Terrell) is a Detroit-born, Brooklyn-based DJ and visual artist whose sound moves fluidly between the deep musical lineage of Detroit and the vibrant club cultures of Chicago and New York City. Their sets are smooth, intentional, and groove-forward—designed to pull you out of your head and back into your body. Drawing from House, Soul, Funk, Disco, Hip-Hop, and Jazz, BlkShine crafts immersive musical journeys where rhythm becomes release and movement becomes communion. Each set builds a feel-good atmosphere charged with confidence, connection, and undeniable sex appeal—music that lingers long after the last record fades. BlkShine has played dance floors and intimate rooms across Detroit and New York City, with appearances at Nowadays, Public Records, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Mood Ring, and Rodeo BK in NYC, and Paramita Sounds, Spotlight Detroit, Menjos Complex, Motor City Wine, UFO Bar, and Paris Bar Detroit in their hometown. Whether commanding a packed dance floor or setting the tone for an intimate gathering, BlkShine’s selections invite you to surrender to the rhythm, trust your body, and stay just a little longer.Recently at public records, Silence Please, Mi Sabor Cafe · often with SHAUNIE, Lovie, LANSUH, none of them here on Thursday
