BASIC A true Los Angeles techno legend, Developer has been shaping the global techno landscape since the early 1990s. His journey began on the airwaves of KSPC FM, a small but influential radio station East of Los Angeles, where he honed his ear and passion as a resident DJ. Over the decades, he has become one of the most respected figures in underground techno, known for his relentless work ethic, signature hypnotic rhythms, and uncompromising sound. As the founder and curator of the highly influential imprints Modularz, Olympian, and Developer Archive, he has played a critical role in defining the modern techno aesthetic, championing raw, functional, and forward-thinking music. Developer’s sonic identity is firmly rooted in the American warehouse tradition, yet it resonates deeply across the globe, reflected in his regular appearances at elite institutions like Tresor and Berghain in Berlin, Khidi in Tbilisi, Under Club in Buenos Aires, and Radion in Amsterdam, to name a few. His discography boasts collaborations and releases on some of techno's most revered labels, including Jeff Mills’ Axis Records, Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver. A former member of Oscar Mulero’s esteemed PoleGroup collective, Developer continues to release and perform with intensity and vision. With decades of influence behind him and no sign of slowing down, Developer remains a central pillar of the global underground techno movement. FULL Developer, born Adrian Sandoval, is a pioneering force in the Los Angeles techno scene, with a career spanning over three decades. One of the few active DJ/producers to emerge from LA's underground in the early 1990s, Developer has been instrumental in shaping the West Coast techno movement through his performances, productions, and curatorial efforts. His journey began back in 1992 playing parties in the east Los Angeles backyard scene, then in 1994 as a resident DJ on 88.7 FM KSPC, where he honed his craft before transitioning into a key role at Entity Music Distribution, the first dedicated techno distribution company on the West Coast. As Import & Export Manager, he played a crucial role in bringing seminal labels such as Axis Records, Reload Belgium, Plus 8, and various labels from Detroit and Chicago to the West Coast USA and down to Mexico and South America in the mid 1990s. Renowned for his marathon DJ sets, precision mixing, and dynamic programming, Developer's ability to seamlessly blend 50 tracks per hour across three turntables, using effects processors and samplers, has earned him a reputation as a high-caliber performer. His contributions to LA's techno culture extend beyond the decks—he has curated and hosted events that introduced international talents to the city, further cementing his legacy as a key architect of the scene. Today, Developer continues to push the boundaries of techno through his labels, Modularz and Olympian with both platforms showcasing both established and rising talents from across the world. His deep-rooted knowledge of electronic music, combined with a forward-thinking approach to DJing and production, ensures that he remains a vital figure in contemporary techno. With an evolving arsenal of cutting-edge technology based performances and an extensive archive of timeless techno influenced recordongs, Developer’s influence and artistry continue to thrive, making him one of the most compelling mixmasters from the Americas.Their RA profile lists Axis Records, Mote-Evolver, Semantica Records, Sleaze Records and 6 more.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club · often with Steffi, Stojche, Anika Kunst, none of them here on Sunday
“Who is Orlando Voorn?”
their own biography
the whole biography
Who is Orlando Voorn? He is one of the first Dutch musicians to establish a vital connection between Detroit and Amsterdam in the early 90’s. Orlando Voorn has long been recognized as one of the Netherland’s most original and ingenious producers in the world of electronic dance music. Voorn began DJing at the early age of 12 years old and later went on to win his first scratch competition at Amsterdam “Club Flora Palace”. Amazingly Voorn did this by borrowing records from his competitor. After winning that competition he continued to practice every day and was discovered by a Dutch Radio host named “Robin Albers” who was in charge of the Dutch DMC DJ Championship 1986. Surprisingly Voorn placed 1st in the Dutch competitions 1986 & 1987 for Holland which placed him in the world championships of DMC twice in the United Kingdom where he came in 3rd place 86 and 5th place 87 spinning with his own characteristic blend of hip hop, and electro music'. Towards the end of the eighties he acquired his first sequencer and turned his hand to producing his productions, his first project was under the alias “Fixomatic” – “Hurt em Bad” the track was an old school hip hop record and sold very well for that period of time. Voorn has a great vision for combining sounds, rhythms and key structures. When you look at Voorn’s past it mainly consist of 2 important factors. He started playing the drums at an early age of 9 years old and having professional drumming lessons although he could not comprehend reading notes his drum teacher said to his parents “Orlando doesn’t need to read notes” he was indeed a natural and could play everything that was shown to him once. Later on Voorn produced a couple of tracks based on sampling music; he met with Steve Clisby from a successful band called the “American Gypsies” in the early 80's. Clisby was intrigued by the way Voorn put together a production based upon samples; when an agreement was established Voorn worked together with Clisby who would teach Orlando chord structures. This was a major step for Orlando as it changed his view on productions tremendously. As he no longer needed to use only samples but he could in fact create a track/composition from playing it all with keys, bass lines, piano's etc… Subsequently Voorn made a name for himself under the alias "Frequency" with a classic label known as Lower East Side Records with titles such as "Where is Your Evidence” “Kiss the Sky” and “Industrial Metal”. As a result of these tracks Voorn was introduced to Juan Atkins and they later started to collaborate & produce tracks together at Voorn's home studio where he remixed “Industrial Metal’ while Juan tweaked the sounds to make them come out of the speakers a little more pulsating. Atkins & Voorn worked extraordinarily well together and Juan taught Orlando how to merge the sounds as well as how to change the standards of conventional productions. Soon after they would join forces and produce the well know track called "Game One" which became a classic record on Atkin’s label “Metroplex” and later it reprised on Voorn’s imprint “Nightvision” double CD Compilation 1996. In that same time span Voorn had met Blake Baxter and collaborated for the infamous ESP Records and under the alias "The Ghetto Brothers" they made 2 EP's with timeless classics as "Ghetto Disco" and" Ghetto Blues". Voorn also did recordings for a legendary Detroit label “KMS” an imprint of Kevin Saunderson using yet another alias known as "Fix" where he created a dance floor destroyer track called "Flash" which remains in many DJ's crates at this moment. “Flash” became a hit in the Detroit clubs first before the record had broken out internationally. Voorn has a well know history of working with Detroits originator’s including Derrick May's imprint “Fragile” under yet another alias “Complex” entitled “Midi Merge”. Voorn used many Aliases’ back when he started to produce records in order to present various styles of music without limitation to producing only techno. It was a common fad to use fictitious names as it is today. Voorn has never limited himself to one particular style of producing. You could easily say that he is incredibly versatile in switching between many styles that demonstrates him as a well known producer. Orlando even inspired Deadmau5 a character who wears a big mousehead on his head and is more of an entertainer has remixed Paco di Bango in 2009 with more then 120.000 youtube hits and performs it all over the world and made a new audience aware of Orlando’s Music. their own biography
the whole biography
DJ Plant Texture, born Donato Basile in Bari, Southern Italy, is an electronic music producer, DJ, and former record store owner whose work blends raw rhythmic intensity with deep emotional resonance. Active since the early 2000s under various aliases including Dona, A662, and DJ PT, he is best known for his genre-defying productions that fuse techno, breakbeat, jungle, acid, footwork, and ambient into a singular, highly percussive sonic identity. Growing up in Bari, Dona developed a passion for rhythm and electronic hardware early on. As a drummer in his youth, his deep connection with rhythm became a defining characteristic of his work. He began experimenting with music production using an MPC in the early 2000s—a tool that remains central to his workflow today. His approach to music-making is instinctive and highly physical, often rooted in live jamming sessions and real-time manipulation of hardware, rather than meticulous programming. Basile’s entry into the underground techno and experimental scenes was marked by a series of releases on respected labels such as Crème Organization, Ilian Tape, and Tresor Records. His breakout came with a string of EPs that caught the attention of techno connoisseurs for their fearless blending of styles and lo-fi grit. Over the years, he has cultivated a raw but melodic sound that balances chaos and control, drawing equally from the legacy of 90s rave culture and the textural experimentation of IDM. In April 2025, DJ Plant Texture released his debut EP on the legendary Berlin - based label Tresor, titled Life. This release marked a significant moment in his career, not only for its prestigious platform but for its deeply personal thematic content. The EP explores themes of self-awareness, anxiety, and the emotional weight of transitioning into adulthood. Beyond the studio, Basile also played a central role in his local scene by founding and running EXP Records (R.I.P.), a record store in Bari that became a meeting point for local producers and DJs. This space not only connected people through vinyl but also helped foster a community and exchange of ideas in Southern Italy's underground music culture. The store has had a lasting impact on his artistic perspective, informing both the nostalgic and forward- looking elements of his work. Whether behind the decks or behind his machines, DJ Plant Texture continues to challenge expectations and defy easy categorization. His work is marked by a deep respect for the history of electronic music, filtered through a very personal lens—one shaped by inner struggles, local roots, community, and a constant desire to push forward. As of 2026, he remains a vital force in the European electronic underground, with a growing international following and a reputation for delivering sets and releases that are both cerebral and dancefloor-ready.Their RA profile lists Tresor, Crème Organization, Ilian Tape, Mistress Recordings and 4 more.often with TRESOR, GLOBUS, The Advent, none of them here on Sunday
