the whole biography
Dero has been an avid record collector for over a decade, and has started taking the practice seriously during his time in Chicago. More than access to records, the city played a major role in shaping his views of the dance floor culture—where music operates as a shared, communal experience rather than an individual pursuit. Now based in New York City, Dero brings that perspective to the floor, drawing from rare grooves sourced globally alongside classic Chicago and Detroit house, as well as his own edits. His selections are guided by an emphasis on collective energy.Last at Moondog Hifi in May · often with Latas, Inés, Ben Hixon, none of them here that night

the whole biography
DJing Noema is first and foremost a club DJ. His style is versatile, flowing seamlessly from sensual slow jams to ecstatic peak-time bangers. Always super groovy and psychedelic, his sets freely cross boundaries between psychedelic House, Indie Dance, Acid Disco, Balearic grooves, and beyond. He has played some of the world’s most celebrated stages, including Woomoon (Ibiza), Scorpios (Mykonos), Papaya Playa Project (Tulum), Fusion Festival, Garbicz Festival, and many more international clubs and festivals across London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, São Paulo, Tulum, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Mexico City. Infamous for his all-night-long “infinity dance” sessions of up to 10 hours, Noema crafts journeys that dancers describe as transcendental experiences. His rare ability to shape time, space, and music into one ecstatic flow makes him stand out as a truly exceptional DJ. Beyond the dancefloor, Noema is also renowned for his listening sets, which showcase the vastness of his record collection. These sessions reveal his depth as a selector, drawing from decades of crate-digging across genres and cultures. PRODUCTIONS & LABELS - Breakthrough with African Shakedown EP and his edit of Ata Kak “Daa Nyinaa” (FACT Mag’s hottest records of 2013, celebrated by Soul Clap, Axel Boman, Erol Alkan, MCDE, Psychemagik, TEED etc.) - Six acclaimed EPs + collaborations with Apparat, Dixon, Daniel Wang, Sabo, Basement Jaxx, Red Rack’em - Debut album “ONE” (2023): part of his comprehesive interactive performance installation with orchestral music, choreography, stage design, costumes, texts, and video - Remix EPs with Lauer, Kalabrese, Shubostar, Panthera Krause, Mehmet Aslan, and many more. - Founder of The Magic Movement (2014): pioneering downtempo/ psychedelic label with Nicola Cruz, Oceanvs Orientalis and Xique-Xique - Magic Jams: eclectic Disco project for crate-digging inspired sounds — Disco, Balearic, Old School House, African grooves BACKGROUND A classically trained guitarist since childhood, Noema studied at Berlin’s Hanns Eisler university, graduating with a master’s degree. He went on to teach guitar and theory for 10 years at Berlin’s renowned Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg music school. Today, he shares his expertise by teaching music production, music theory, and mentoring artists about the music industry, combining deep academic knowledge with decades of hands-on experience as a DJ, producer, and label owner. Together with his background in theatre, dance, and relentless digging, this foundation shapes his rare artistic depth and integrity.
