also plays New York City — 1 night
softchaos is the pseudonym of Tere Stout, the Ecuadorian-American dj, multidisciplinary artist, and dancefloor evangelist.
Both thoughtful and commanding, softchaos’ sets are watermarked by their meticulous pairing of groove-driven music along with aggressive percussive tracks in unison, experimenting with genre meticulously in acts of black reclamation. Embracing this practice, their sound embodies reverence to techno while staying locked into the new turn in electronic music, blending with finesse.
Their versatility is seen in the range of their schedule, from their one-of-a-kind sets at and Primavera Sound, Sónar Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event and CTM to club nights at RSO, Tresor, Fabric London, Nitsa and Razzmatazz. softchaos is undoubtedly at the forefront of playfully avant-garde and disobedient electronic music at home and international stages alike.
Harnessing their punk ethos, and referencing classic landscapes of New York City and Detroit, their selection of techno, breaks, and rebellious sounds offer a transcontinental call and response and an offering to dancefloors everywhere.

Who they play with
Counted from the bills themselves, over bills of twelve names or fewer. A pair's count includes a night that is announced and not yet played; where there is one, the row says when.
The nights, the rooms and the bills are the listings themselves. The biography and the photograph are Resident Advisor's. Nothing on this page was written for it.
