Kalla

With a repertoire that spans from soulful, groove-based hip-hop to Lo-Fi, UK garage, and bass music, Kalla orbits around sub frequencies and handmade, unique beats.

Trained in piano by a jazz pianist for over a decade, followed by classical pianists and music producers, Kalla’s productions are characterized by a blend of various genre influences, spiced up by his distinctive chord voicings.

A positive spirit, smiles, and laughter during performances make him stand out in his home base of Berlin, where it may sometimes seem like sadness and being dismissive are key to exposure—especially when it comes to DJing. Usually equipped with his Ableton Push and at least one keyboard to jam with, it’s easy to tell that Kalla enjoys what he is doing—making you dance or vibe with him.

Formerly known as derkalavier, he continued to release solo piano music and compositions under the name Samuel Bosch, while re-establishing himself as a producer under the name Kalla, starting in 2023.
