Mike Shannon
A driving influence in shaping the sound of minimal house and techno. Mike Shannon has been a driving force in electronic music for over two decades. Emerging from southwestern Ontario, Shannon’s early career was heavily shaped by the deep techno and house of Detroit and Chicago, which inspired his unique, reductionist style. His precise approach and commitment to minimalist sound design quickly earned him a reputation as one of the most forward-thinking artists in the scene.
Mike’s journey reached a pivotal moment with his collaboration on Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 label, which cemented his position within the minimal movement and sparked the creation of his own influential labels, Cynosure (Soundcloud / Bandcamp / Discogs) and a sub label Haunt Recordings (Soundcloud / Bandcamp / Discogs). Both imprints have become synonymous with cutting-edge minimalism, blending jazz-infused textures with experimental electronic music that continually redefines the genre.
