Gray Contrast is the live electronic project of Dorian Goetsch, born and raised in Berlin-Schoeneberg. He started piano at the age of seven, learning by ear, and carried that classical foundation into a hardware-only performance practice. His rig - nicknamed "Spaceship" by the Berlin police for its ingenuity - runs entirely without a computer: grooveboxes, synthesizers, loopers and live vocals that rise from ambient openings into mantra-like choruses and 150 BPM peak-time techno. A fixture of Berlin's Mauerpark street scene, he played daily through the 2020 lockdown for the city's music-deprived techno community, shaping both his sound and the scene that grew around him. ARTE TV picked up the story, leading to a national documentary feature, alongside coverage in Berliner Zeitung ("Sound fuer die Strasse") and Berliner Morgenpost. Since then: Rave The Planet 2025 with his own float, opening for Dr. Motte; the 64-Finals of the Gwangju Busking WorldCup in South Korea; a headline slot at the Pilsen Busking Festival in Czechia; sound design for the Hamburger Kunsthalle; and an EU-supported songwriting residency in the Karakoram, Pakistan. Hendrik Nitsche is a Berlin-based techno producer and live performer whose hypnotic rhythms pulsate between 144 and 150 BPM, creating immersive sonic journeys that unfold in the moment. Rather than relying on pre-arranged tracks, Hendrik's performances thrive on prepared improvisation, crafting unique experiences through live manipulation of Ableton synthesizers and effects, seamlessly combined with analog synthesizers that add raw, unpredictable energy to his sound. With classical piano and guitar training since age five, Hendrik brings a depth of musical understanding to his productions that belies his relatively recent focus on techno. Since August 2023, he has been refining his distinctive sound, channeling years of theory and practice into the raw energy of Berlin's electronic landscape. Hendrik's musical path took an unconventional turn beneath the Warschauer Bridge, where his street performances with a portable PA system regularly drew crowds of up to 150 people. These grassroots sessions opened doors to Berlin venues like Cosmic Caspar, Mein Haus am See, and Nachtvogel, where his dynamic sets continue to build a devoted following. In July 2025, Hendrik’s ascent culminated in a major milestone: performing a full live set on a flagship truck at Rave the Planet, Berlin’s largest techno parade, in front of tens of thousands of dancers. Just weeks before the parade, he shared a studio session with modular pioneer Dr. Spree, a collaboration that deepened his sonic palette and reaffirmed his commitment to live hardware performance. As a core member of the artist collective The Gates Music, Hendrik contributes actively to Berlin’s collaborative creative ecosystem. His influences range from the live modular chaos of Alexander Spree to the precision of Gabrielle and the raw drive of USAW—yet his sound resists imitation. With interest now coming from Amsterdam Techno Records, who are discussing gigs at Berlin institutions like about:blank and OXI, Hendrik’s momentum continues to build. From early dub-techno experiments like Carpet (from his debut album) to his current hard-edged, genre-fluid live shows, his evolution is both deliberate and dynamic. Freunde, das ist der Anfang von etwas Großem. Jan Ritter, das bin zu 100% ich. Musik mit Herz und Seele, fetten Bässen, knackigen Drums und Melodien, die mitten ins Herz treffen. Es hat lange gedauert bis ich dort war wo ich jetzt bin: Am Anfang von etwas echtem. Jetzt habe ich mich und meinen Sound gefunden und stehe zu 100% dahinter. Dieses Jahr wird groß meine Freunde! Angefangen mit dem Release meiner ersten eigenen EP auf einem der geilsten Labels die es gibt: Supdub Records. Doch damit nicht genug! Alfred Heinrichs himself hat einen Remix von einem der Tracks von dieser EP gemacht! Und zwar eine Granate von einem Remix! Es folgen noch weitere Releases auf Lordag Records und anderen Labels die ich liebe. Ich bin sehr glücklich mit den Künstlern, mit denen ich selbst "groß geworden" bin arbeiten zu können. Hätte mir das jemand vor 8 Jahren gesagt, dann hätte ich ihn für verückt erklärt! Das Feedback, dass ich von meinen Idolen wie Pig&Dan, Microtrauma, SQL, um nur ein paar zu nennen, ist absolut überwältigend und ich kann es kaum erwarten euch die Tracks zu zeigen! Ich freue mich über jedes bekannte und jedes neue Gesicht. Grandios wäre es wenn ihr bei den Newsfeed Einstellungen bei meiner Seite auf "als erstes anzeigen" klickt, damit ihr auch was davon mitbekommt wenn ich was poste :) Ich bedanke mich bei allen die an mich geglaubt haben und auch bei denen die es nicht getan haben ;-) Außerdem möchte ich mich bei Alfred Heinrichs und den Supdub Jungs bedanken, die mir diese einmalige Chance gegeben haben. Julez moves between driving techno, hard kicks, distorted acid lines, and industrial influences. Starting out with DJing, the first synth – a Korg Minilogue – in 2019 marked the shift towards a fully hardware-based setup. Since then, raw and energetic sounds have been created through semi-modular setups and analog machines. After moving to Berlin in 2024 he began to form his own sound even more: Hard, Nostalgic, Emotional.
