Xica (chee-kuh) Soul is a Los Angeles-based DJ known for her magnetic presence on the decks that transcends boundaries of genre. Her sound is defined by artful blends of sultry rhythms, fierce thumpers, and dreamy nostalgia that create an undeniable energy on the dance floor. Xica’s diverse taste is ever changing, shifting through sounds with real dynamism, but yet always guiding her audience to unexpected and captivating musical spaces.
Growing up in South San Diego, Xica was immersed in music from an early age. She has fond memories listening to her dad’s mixtapes on cassette, carefully curated for long Sunday evening drives, and waking up on weekend mornings to her family’s soundtrack of funk, oldies, disco and new wave records blasting from the kitchen. It inspired her own passion for record collecting, which for Xica, is an extension of her personal story and a way to connect with the deep roots of music culture.
