DJ Gay Panic

13 listings in 8 named rooms, over the last three years · one ahead · Atlanta

DJ Gay Panic has spent more than a decade embedded in New York’s queer underground, shaping sets that are bratty, vocal-heavy, maximalist, and steeped in pop-cultural brain rot. He has played across Brooklyn, though his favorite appearances remain queer parties in the woods.

Alongside the poet Candystore, he founded SLOP Salon, a recurring performance-art party at Parkside Lounge. He is also a member of the drag and nightlife collective The Nobodies and has shared bills with The Millionaires, Rochelle Jordan, and 2charm.

Outside the booth, he works on the marketing team at Elsewhere promoting the club-side of the venue’s programming. At night he writes The Deviant Dispatch on Substack. His work has appeared in The Washington Post, PAPER, and Pitchfork.

Their rooms

One tick a night, on the one axis this page has — Aug 2023, where the listings start, to Jan 2027, the last night anybody has announced. The shaded end has not happened yet.

Once each: The Sultan Room, Purgatory, Rubulad, Mary's Bar Brooklyn and Dromedary Bar. Two of the 14 listings never named a room, and are not counted as one.

Who they play with

Counted from the bills themselves, over bills of twelve names or fewer. A pair's count includes a night that is announced and not yet played; where there is one, the row says when.
