Marcel Koar

Since Marcel Koar first watched the Loveparade on a tube TV, he has been deeply in love with club music. Perhaps it was this initiation ritual that has kept him loyal to vinyl records to this day, making him one of the rare vinyl-only DJs. His heart also beats for analog mixers, and he can endlessly rave about the advantages of rotary mixers. He does so in the same way he DJs: with elegant understatement and moments of ecstatic energy. The many crew members who are captivated by his sets appreciate this about him. As part of Children Of The Drum, the Chimaera Festival, MiDi, and as a regular organizer of his own parties, he's had plenty of opportunities to prove it. By now, he hasn’t only played everywhere with a sound system in his adopted home of Dresden; his understanding of house music is also well-received across the rest of the country—and even more so, heard. But don’t ask him about tracks or artists, because for him, music manifests through album covers in his mind.
