karete bu

Character unlocked: karete bu.

Rooted in House groovers, UK-leaning rhythms, and a weakness for records with a bit of dusty history. Her sets are guided by hipswings that occasionally take a left turn when the room is ready for it, sharp timing, and a tendency to let things simmer until they don’t.

As a former resident at Leipzig’s Institut fuer Zukunft, she fostered young talent in the DJ rehearsal room and developed a sound that isn’t afraid of spectacle when the moment calls for it. Today, based in Berlin, she works for the beloved festival Nachti by Nachtdigital, helping to shape it from the inside out and keeping the backstage just as lively as the dancefloor.
