Madd Rod
Between beats and notes, Madd Rod embodies the curiosity brewing within Rodrigo Pinheiro. Originally from Lisbon, he is a DJ, producer, and commander of Inner Shah Recordings, defying the frontiers between electronic music genres through a simultaneously nostalgic and avant-garde approach.
Producing from a young age, he navigated through the industry, closing the first chapter of his career with his first studio album, Dystopian Desert (2020), which unlocked fresh collaborations and remixes. The following year, he joined the roster of Discotexas, finding a musical shelter within borders.
Living in Berlin since 2022, he [re]discovered his identity through a retrofuturistic sound that culminated in his second studio album, Sad Behaviour (2023)—a robust, punk, and intimate dive into the past with eyes on the future. After its release, he spent a short period in Portugal, reconnecting with the country’s club scene, establishing his event series, Panthera and working on Sad Behaviour: Expanded Edition (2024), which introduced four new singles to the LP.

Whether in the studio or at the clubs, Madd Rod weaves influences from 2000s Electroclash, 1990s EBM, and the raw energy of 1980s Proto-House and Italo Disco. His latest release, the Make You Sweat EP, dropped via Inner Shah in February 2025, is proof he mastered the recipe for this genre salad.
