Marie Midori

Midori, fka Marie Midori, is a Swedish-Japanese artist born and based in Berlin. A beloved part of the city's nightlife family, they've been club-socialized at Griessmuehle (R.I.P), a long-time mentor and core organiser of the legendary Femme Bass Mafia, and to this day the figure behind Crack Bellmer's queer- and community oriented programming.

From producing radio mixtapes in their childhood bedroom at the age of six, to busking in odd corners of the globe as a teenage scout leader, to dropping out of university to become a DJ in their early twenties— music has always been the strongest creative constant amid their ever-shifting interests.

Influenced by their multicultural background, the natural world, and the whimsical tales of Japanese anime, they enjoy digging between genres in search of pieces that defy easy categorization. Dedicated to finding a dancefloor balance between musical introspection and rave, they blend a broad variety of styles in their sets — ranging from percussion-driven bass, breakbeat, and leftfield techno, to psychedelic house journeys under their metaverde moniker.
