Simisola
Their sets are versatile yet discerning, featuring shimmery house, global bass, and deconstructed club, punctuated with bad bitch rap and layers of textural percussion.
A co-founder of ABEG NYC, a collective by and for queer Africans, and SLICK DOWN, a DJ collective, label, and staple Brooklyn club night centered around electronic music’s roots in Black culture, Simisola is dedicated to connecting QTPOC communities through music and event curation. In addition to hosting HYPNOSIS, a quarterly party which pays homage to their disco roots, Simisola frequently performs at popular venues across NYC, including The Lot Radio, Paragon, and Bossa Nova Civic Club, and is a resident on 8Ball Radio. Who they play with
Counted from the bills themselves, over bills of twelve names or fewer. A pair's count includes a night that is announced and not yet played; where there is one, the row says when.
sola system has stood on 1 of these bills. sola system is one of the names Simisola records under, so they are named here rather than counted as company. — their aliases on Resident Advisor
