Ben Zo

124 listings in 39 named rooms, over the last three years · 2 ahead · Manila

Ben Zo has brought his acid-infused, harmonic mixing to vastly-different venues throughout Brooklyn including H0L0, Mansions, SILO, Trans-Pecos and Xanadu; and for every conceivable set time, whether it's sunset at Fourth World, New Year's Eve all-night-long at Happyfun Hideaway, or opening as well as closing Bossa Nova Civic Club, Jupiter Disco and Mood Ring, among other local cornerstones.

A versatile selector with a filmmaking background, his consistently cosmic palette largely encompasses heady house and celestial techno, under the heavy influence of Italo, IDM, trance and other melodic samples. Blending the familiar and esoteric in search of vistas that evoke the natural world, he crafts uniquely psychedelic moments that echo long after in thought.

He is the organizer of BUSH DÜF, a Bushwick-based party focused on 'cosmic, colorful and cathartic' techno. His guest mixes have been aired by other stations in New York such as 8 Ball Radio and Newtown Radio (of which he is a former resident), and around the world including Internet Public Radio, London's Subtle Radio, Athens' Fade Radio, Bangkok Community Radio and a three-hour mix for Manila Community Radio.

Their rooms

One tick a night, on the one axis this page has — Aug 2023, where the listings start, to Jan 2027, the last night anybody has announced. The shaded end has not happened yet.

11 more rooms they have played twice or more

Once each: Pianos, Bar Freda, Trans-Pecos, Hart Bar, Xanadu, Honey's, H0L0, Ms. Yoo, The Living Gallery, Marco's, Blinky's Bar, Coney Island Boardwalk, Freddy's Bar and Backroom, Xpizza, Jade, Fiction Bar, Firstlive, Eris, Lovebirds Natural Wines and Telephone. Six of the 126 listings never named a room, and are not counted as one.

Who they play with

Counted from the bills themselves, over bills of twelve names or fewer. A pair's count includes a night that is announced and not yet played; where there is one, the row says when.
